Late last week, the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (Cal/OSHA) recommended to the state that most COVID-19 safety rules would not need to be changed until July 31st, rather than California’s June 15th reopening when the state mask mandate is to end.

Under the new proposed recommendations, many businesses would have to wait an additional month and a half to remove some 6-foot distancing requirements, to remove see-through partitions at stores around cash registers and check-out lines, and to end mask wearing during transit in some scenarios, amongst other restrictions. Unvaccinated workers at large outdoor events with more than 10,000 people would also have to keep in place six foot separations under the Cal/OSHA recommendations unless they are wearing employer provided N95 masks. However, while the employer would have to provide N95 masks, usage would be voluntary.

Restaurants, retailers, and other businesses would also only be responsible for employees and not customers under the recommendations.

Porcine manure! At my current employer over 90% of employees have been vaccinated. Even for the <10% who are not yet requiring masking, etc. is bureaucratic ignorance and control-freakitis!

Porcine manure, Part 2! As the minimal spread at the massive unruly Hate-Police rallies and riots demonstrated last year, outdoors, even for large crowds, are very low risk environments.

Regulators withdraw controversial California work mask rules

The California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board´s revised rule, adopted last week after it was initially rejected, would have allowed workers to forego masks only if every employee in a room is fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. That contrasts with the state´s broader plan to do away with virtually all masking and social distancing requirements for vaccinated people in concert with the latest recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The board's decision late Wednesday to withdraw that worksite rule before it goes into effect allows the board to consider changes at its June 17 meeting and potentially have them go into effect by month´s end.

But some business leaders on Wednesday kept up their pressure on Newsom to override the board.

"After the confusion and lack of clarity on reopening guidelines at the Cal/OSHA hearing tonight, the statewide business community must once again request the governor issue an Executive Order before June 15 to provide all employers with the consistency and certainty in guidelines," Rob Lapsley, president of the California Business Roundtable, said in a statement after the vote. That, he said, "will be the catalyst for a full economic reopening and create a powerful incentive to get even more Californians vaccinated."

California Gov. Newsom signs order to end most of state's coronavirus restrictions, reopen Tuesday

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday signed an order that will lift most coronavirus-related restrictions in the state, allowing it to officially reopen Tuesday.

The Democrat's executive order will end the state’s tier system that based restrictions on case numbers in different counties, according to FOX 11 in Los Angeles.

"California is turning the page on this pandemic, thanks to swift action by the state and the work of Californians who followed public health guidelines and got vaccinated to protect themselves and their communities," Newsom said in a statement. "With nearly 40 million vaccines administered and among the lowest case rates in the nation, we are lifting the orders that impact Californians on a day-to-day basis while remaining vigilant to protect public health and safety as the pandemic persists."
...
A new state mask order that takes effect Tuesday allows vaccinated people to go most places – indoors and outdoors – without masks but still requires face coverings in public spaces for those who aren’t vaccinated. It was unclear how that would be enforced.

Masks will still be required in places like hospitals, public transit, nursing homes and homeless shelters and proof of vaccination or a negative test will be required for large indoor events, according to FOX 11.

What a load of porcine manure: "Californians who followed public health guidelines and got vaccinated to protect themselves and their communities"! Yes, vaccines have helped immensely, but last fall, before the election, Partisan-Liar-Goobernor Noisome was threatening to block distribution of any vaccine approved while Trump was President until California "experts" determined the vaccine was safe.
