Wednesday is derived from "Woden's day". Woden is an old germanic way of sayin 'Odin'.
In some weird joke of history, Wednesday = Odin's day

That is correct.  Tomorrow is Thor's Daeg.

Great if you can, my moms going on 93 and in very poor health with some serious memory issues starting, she would never survive a move. Anyway, my wife would never leave the kids and grandkids so

My mom was 82. It wasn't easy. When you gotta go, you gotta go.

A nation's leader is mortally shot, and we don't hear about it on our news feeds?

Archduke Ferdinand?

from the wiki page it was kind of hard to extract his political leanings.  Seems he is pro-Israel, anti-Muslim , not pro-Ukraine, left of center domestic policy,  pro-EU, and seems to warm to Russia, but not overtly.

Not sure how any of this plays into this attempt, but i understand the perp was nabbed, so I am guessing more to follow.

Michael Cohen’s testimony proves he’s the King of Liars, and only out to make a buck

On Tuesday, the prosecution surprised many by suddenly announcing that it would rest its case against former president Donald Trump with the completion of testimony by Michael Cohen.

It was surprising because the prosecution never clearly stated the crime that it was proving, the elements of that crime, or even why denoting payments related to Stormy Daniels were not properly recorded as legal expenses.

Indeed, the only thing the prosecutors proved was that, in the pantheon of dishonesty, there are liars, pathological liars . . . and Michael Cohen.

Cohen spent the last two days insisting that he used to be a liar but lied only to help former President Donald Trump. If that is the thrust of his testimony, it is just the latest lie told by Cohen under oath.

Cohen has lied to Congress, courts, special counsels, the IRS, the banks, and virtually every creature that walks or crawls on the face of the Earth.

Notably, his past conviction for business and tax fraud were not taken in the interests of Trump but himself.

A U.S. Air Force instructor pilot died from his injuries after his plane’s ejection seat activated while on the ground Monday at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.

Capt. John Robertson of the 80th Operations Support Squadron died early Tuesday morning after being severely injured when the ejection seat of the T-6A Texan II aircraft he was sitting in activated during ground operations, the base said in a Tuesday release.

“This is a devastating loss for Captain Robertson’s family and loved ones, and for the entire 80th Flying Training Wing,” Col. Mitchell Cok, the acting wing commander, said in the release. “Captain Robertson was a highly valued airman and instructor pilot. Our deepest condolences go with all who knew and loved him.”
