San Antonio bars Chick-fil-A from airport, cites 'legacy of anti-LGBT behavior'

San Antonio's City Council voted Thursday to block Chick-fil-A from opening a store at the San Antonio International Airport due to the company’s alleged "legacy of anti-LGBT behavior."
The council voted 6-4 to deny Chick-fil-A from joining the new Food, Beverage and Retail Prime Concession Agreement for the airport, but approved chains like Smoke Shack and Local Coffee.
“With this decision, the City Council reaffirmed the work our city has done to become a champion of equality and inclusion," said Councilman Roberto Treviño, according to News 4 San Antonio. "San Antonio is a city full of compassion, and we do not have room in our public facilities for a business with a legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior."

What legacy of anti-LGBT behavior? Have gays ever been refused service? Have gays ever been refused employment, or otherwise discriminated against in the workplace?
This is just a political jihad, and reprehensible on its face. By the way, the Philly Airport has Chick-fil-A. I buy it to bring on board every time I fly.
-
I seriously doubt that Chick-fil-A has ever denied service to a LGBT customer. But that's not the activists' point. Nor is accepting them as human beings, which the company undoubtedly does as well, as part of their Christian belief system.
No: in order to avoid being attacked, boycotted, bullied, smeared and harassed by the LGBT lobby or by any other such Accredited Victim Grievance Group, you must endorse and embrace their agenda without question.

I really hope that Chick-fil-A sues the crap out of the airport for blatant and unmitigated discrimination.
They should sue not just for themselves, but for the sake of the whole country. This is the Left openly declaring that only THEY can decide what is right and what is wrong. Only THEY decide what you are allowed say or think and which opinions you are 'allowed' to have.
This needs to be shut down hard, for the sake of everyone. And Chick-fil-A has the deep pockets to be able to do it.
-
Approved by the City Council behind closed doors, so to speak, with no hearings, by a 6-4 vote. Five hispanics and the liberal mayor voted for and the 4 nays were anglo.
Despicable!

I'm old enough to remember when San Antonio would have banned LGBT behavior.
Times change.

I'd love to see such a lawsuit. This is the action of government, and, while it would take some creative lawyering, reflects discrimination on the basis of the religious faith of the business owners. Put it this way - could a city be sued for refusing to grant a valuable concession to a business solely because the owner was Muslim, where there was no evidence of actual discrimination against customers or employees in the conduct of the business?
-
I hope soembody prepares bunches of signs and strategically places them at airport and high traffic locations with the following:
There would be a Chick-Fil-A at this location, but the following SA city council-persons thought it was in your best interest not to have one..

The glaring irony of your postulation is that Muslims DO discriminate openly against LBGT, among others such as Jews and Christians. More than that, in their home countries Muslims torture and kill homosexuals. And yet Christians are the bad guys?
Part of the lawsuit would be to find any Muslim owned business in the airport. That would certainly highlight specific and directed discrimination not based on LGBT, but solely because the owners of CFA are Christians. If there is a Muslim owned store there, that directly nullifies the council's stated reason for denial.

San Antonio has become a liberal cesspool with all the leftists who moved there from their $h!thole states and want to recreate their dung heap.
-
Doesn't San Antonio have a fag mayor?

Not sure, but Houston's last one was a lesbian.
So opened minded was she, that she actually wanted to supeona church sermons to see if they were preaching against the bathroom bill.
The court struck her Dow.
Real tolerant, that Mayor.

Oh yeah. That one was a real peach pit.

A company that has decided to give up revenue by letting its employees be home or at church on Sundays will not be bothered by a decidedly biased decision like this one is.
On the other hand, the council has decided to forego revenue as the Chik-Fil-A franchise is one of the most successful in fast food industry history.
-
Today's fag gots need to lighten up. It isn't all about them when you look at the big picture.

Sadly, the new one ain't no better. But maybe not gay. Don't know about that.
