Speaker Mike Johnson will address 'sham prosecution' of Trump outside courthouse, days after surviving MTG's ouster attempt

House Speaker Mike Johnson's move to join Trump's court entourage is an extraordinary move for the man who is third in line for the presidency, and is another sign of the total embrace Trump is getting from congressional Republicans.

It comes days after days after the House rejected an effort by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) to remove Johnson from office through a procedural motion.

Trump sided with the speaker in the spat, meeting with Johnson and posting in advance that 'this is not the time' to move to vacate the chair, as Greene was proposing.

The Speaker's office left no doubt which side he is on.

'The Speaker will then address media outside of the ongoing sham prosecution of President Trump,' his office announced.

'Speaker Johnson will address the political persecution of the 45th President of the United States by President Biden’s weaponized Department of Justice and the left-wing Manhattan district attorney.'

The new Mar-a-Lago: Republicans show Trump loyalty with pilgrimage to NYC trial

By David Sivak
May 14, 2024 7:00 am

For almost a decade, Mar-a-Lago has been the destination for Republicans aligning themselves with former President Donald Trump.

From House speakers to congressional candidates, politicians have made the pilgrimage with the goal of currying favor with the man who will lead the party for a third presidential cycle in a row.

But with Trump stuck in New York City for his hush money trial, Republicans have found a new place to flock: the courtroom where the former president, charged with falsifying business records, will be cooped up for the next several weeks.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who led a lawsuit challenging the 2020 election results, appeared there two weeks ago, closer to the start of his trial, while Trump has been joined by congressional allies from Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) to Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) over the last few days.

On Tuesday, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) will visit the courthouse, as will former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Trump accuses judge of 'MAKING BIG MONEY OFF OF THIS SCAM' in early morning post
By David Spector

Former President Donald Trump accused Judge Juan Merchan of being "TOTALLY CORRUPT" in an early morning rant on his Truth Social account.

"Judge Merchan is TOTALLY COMPROMISED, CONFLICTED, AND CORRUPT," Trump said.

The former president went on to accuse the judge in his "hush money" trial of "MAKING BIG MONEY OFF OF THIS SCAM AND ITS OUTCOME."

Trump has been fined numerous times for violating the judge's gag order and Merchan has even threatened him with jail time.

AG Merrick Garland now faces TWO contempt of Congress charges for failing to hand over audio of Biden's special counsel interview in which he appeared 'elderly' with a 'poor memory'

A pair of Republican-led House committees will advance resolutions to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress on Thursday, DailyMail.com has learned.

The Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee will hold dual markups of their contempt resolutions this week.

Both Oversight Chairman James Comer and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan issued subpoenas to Garland for the audio of ex-special counsel Robert Hur's interview with Biden. They say Garland refused to comply with either subpoena, so both committees will move to hold him in contempt.

Kash Patel: Senior Military Officials Intentionally Delayed National Guard Deployment on January 6th
Rusty Weiss
8–10 minutes

People at the highest levels of government reportedly bypassed a direct, lawful command from President Trump because they were concerned about "optics."

Kash Patel, former chief of staff at the Department of Defense under President Donald Trump, insists recent closed-door congressional testimony demonstrates people at the highest levels of government willfully ignored an authorization by the former president to deploy troops to the Capitol on January 6th.

A New York Times article published last week outlines interviews and a public hearing with the House Administration Committee by multiple members of the Guard. The revelations can potentially dismantle the prevailing insurrection narrative in the media and shed light on political manipulations at the highest levels of government.

Ryan D. McCarthy, the Secretary of the Army at the time of the Capitol protest, according to the testimony, failed to deploy the National Guard to help Capitol Police restore order and instead “made a series of phone calls to lawmakers and members of the media.”

McCarthy was reportedly phoned three times with a request to deploy members by Gen. William J. Walker, then the commander of the D.C. Guard.
