A massive trade group for utility companies is reportedly poised to sue the Biden administration over one of its most ambitious climate policies, according to E&E News.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) — a trade group that represents all investor-owned utility companies in the U.S. — will soon file a legal challenge against the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) recently-finalized regulations for power plants, according to E&E News, which cited four unnamed sources with knowledge of the matter. The trade association did not sue the Obama administration when it promulgated its similar and since-overruled Clean Power Plan, but it is now taking a more confrontational posture to battle the Biden administration’s power plant rules.

The EPA finalized the regulations in question in April; the rules effectively require existing coal-fired plants and new natural gas plants to use costly carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology to control 90% of emissions by 2032 if plant operators want to keep the covered facilities online past 2039, according to the agency. EEI reportedly plans to angle its lawsuit around the EPA’s reliance on CCS to meet emissions reductions targets, according to E&E News. Biden blasted by experts for repeating 'debunked lie' to Black students at HBCU graduation: 'Factually false'
Story by Andrew Miller • 2h

The President of the United States is a liar.

President Biden has faced a storm of criticism on social media and by experts over the past few days for repeating what many have labeled a lie about Georgia’s election law that was implemented several years ago.

"Today in Georgia, they won't allow water to be available to you while you wait in line to vote in an election," Biden told the graduating class at Morehouse College, a historically Black university in Atlanta, over the weekend. "What in the hell is that all about?"

"It’s 2024," Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office posted on X in response to Biden’s claim. "I can’t believe we’re still dealing with lies about Georgia’s election from the left & right. Once again, Georgia doesn’t have lines. Biden owes our election officials an apology & focus on the real issues – this damn inflation that is hitting hard-working Georgians."

Democrats and rinos are in an even bigger hurry all of a sudden.  I think it's an admission Biden is going to get his ass kicked in Nov. and they want to build the count of illegals in certain key states for apportionment of the House. :pondering:

Opinion: Biden’s new asylum ruling is a big flashing ‘Welcome’ sign for undocumented immigrants
© Provided by The Hill

On May 16, 2024, the administration announced the formation of a new recent arrivals docket process to more expeditiously resolve the asylum claims of single adults who are apprehended at the border after making an illegal crossing.

The announcement claims that the objective of the program is to “accelerate asylum proceedings so that individuals who do not qualify for relief can be removed more quickly and those who do qualify can achieve protection sooner.”

This does not mean that the asylum claims of these illegal crossers will be disposed of at the border. They will be released into the country for a hearing before an immigration judge in accelerated docket proceedings.

The accelerated docket will operate in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City. The Justice Department has assigned 10 judges who will try to render decisions within 180 days.

First Lady step in? C'mon man! There are only two things that slimy bitch wants, one is to continue on as FLOTUS and barring that to be the grieving widow of POTUS Biden, there ain't no in-between. She didn't bust up Joe's first marriage and drive his wife to suicide to be stuck changing diapers on a drooling idiot.

Wow how he said all that was impressive.
I think we're all indebted to Joe Biden for clearly stating what needed to be said.  Not only was it authentic gibberish, it expressed a courage little seen in this day and age.

Radars and drone killers: Revamped Marine office hastens tech creation
Story by Megan Eckstein • 14h •

The U.S. Marine Corps is developing new radars and leveraging its counter-drone systems as it looks to modernize and expand key capabilities.

The service's Program Executive Office Land Systems is eyeing its newly reorganized portfolios - including ground-based air defense, expeditionary radars and light armored vehicles - to find efficiencies and build upon existing technology to rapidly field new systems and expand the portfolio.

Radars
One example involves the expeditionary radars program, which previously housed only the Ground/Air Task Oriented Radar. The office's chief, Stephen Bowdren, told Defense News the G/ATOR is an active radar that has proved itself in the field and is now pivotal to future aspects of warfare like expeditionary advanced base operations.

I once umpired balls and strikes for a Little League game as a favor to my close friend.

These kids just graduated from "T-Ball" and pitchers usually walked the bases loaded...inning after inning after inning.

Got so damned tired that these pitchers couldn't throw strikes.

Finally there was a pitch thrown in such an arc...the pitch crossed the plate over the batter's head, but the catcher never had to move he glove, which was held right over the heart of the plate.

"STRIKE!!!", I yelled.

The entire bleacher-filled cadre of parents screamed out their displeasure.  It was the last time they ever asked me to umpire a game.    :silly:   :rolling:

Mayorkas urges passage of border security bill, says Biden admin has enforced the law since 'day one'
Story by Ashley Carnahan • 10h

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas welcomed Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's decision to move forward with a second attempt at passing a bipartisan border security bill that was defeated in both the House and Senate earlier this year.

Mayorkas told Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto Tuesday on "Your World" that the bill would "deliver for us changes to 30-year-old laws that are incredibly needed."

"We're dealing with a terrifically broken asylum system and [this] would deliver for us resources at a level that we desperately need, that we do not have," he said.

Schumer told his Democratic colleagues in a letter obtained by Politico that the Senate would take up the Border Act as a stand-alone measure later this week.

The test vote will need 60 yeas on a motion to break a filibuster to begin debate on the bill, but it is widely expected to fail, according to Fox News senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram.
