Don't the Israelis already have something semi-autonomous along those lines?

The Israelis have deployed Unmanned Armored Vehicles (called Guardium) along the Gaza border.  See link:

How much retrofitting would it take to arm something like that?

My guess:  They are armed from the get-go.  Why retrofit?

Good point.  However, I would suspect that from a purely public relations point of view, the Israelis have probably not armed them as of yet; having armed semi-autonomous robots roaming through Gaza Strip and the West Bank without a very particular provocation to respond to would be an invitation to further calumny from the forces of anti-semitism, aka progressivism.
