Where will all that electricity come from?

Maybe I'm missing something, but the last time I looked, there hasn't been a newly permitted full-size power plant authorized in decades, and certainly not even a tiny percentage of the approximately 700 new full-size nuclear plants needed to provide the electricity needed to replace just half of the current U.S. vehicle fleet with EVs.

The mad rush for EVs will simply mean that, like private jets, ground transportation will be the purview of the wealthy and government officials - just as it was in the Soviet Union and every other leftist "paradise".

177 new natural gas power plants are being built right now across the country. 2 are going up near me. One is already online. Georgis just added a new reactor and it will supply all their needs.

US factories are going solar. The new Black & Decker plant in KY is powered 100% by solar and they  are selling off the excess.

The U.S. Space Force's top officer says the scale and scope of Russian and Chinese threats to American assets in orbit, including demonstrated abilities to conduct very close proximity operations, is "of paramount concern."

Chief of Space Operations Gen. Chance Saltzman's comments came yesterday ahead of the disclosure of a still largely unknown serious national security threat, which still-unconfirmed reports say may involve a Russian space-related capability. You can read more about what is known about that threat now in The War Zone's earlier reporting.

"Very concerning. Extremely concerning. ... give me another adjective, you guys are the writers," Saltzman said in response to a question about Russian and Chinese threats from The War Zone's Howard Altman at a media roundtable on the sidelines of the Air & Space Forces Association's 2024 Warfare Symposium. "It's of paramount concern."

I'm from Pittsburgh. 'Nuff said. They will not get to the World Series in my lifetime. Thankfully, I'm old enough to have seen Clemente, Stargell, et al., in person.

A US Marine Corps CH-53K recently carried the stripped-down hulk of an F-35C fighter from one base to another and refueled in mid-air along the way.

AU.S. Marine Corps CH-53K King Stallion helicopter with a stripped-down hulk of an F-35C slung underneath refueling in mid-air from a KC-130T Hercules tanker/transport aircraft is a window into what the service's distributed aviation operations might look like in the future.

A Marine CH-53K with a pilot from Marine Test and Evaluation Squadron 1 (VMX-1) at the controls recently did all of this while helping move the remains of the first F-35C test jet, also known as CF-1, from one base to another on April 24. The King Stallion carried the "inoperable airframe, which was without mission and propulsion systems, outer wings, or additional equipment" from Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland to Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst some 160 miles to the northeast, according to a caption accompanying the picture seen at the top of this story, which was released yesterday. NAWCAD Lakehurst is situated within Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. What's left of CF-1 will be used for "future emergency recovery systems testing" at its new home in New Jersey, the Navy says.

Around here the decision wouldn't have ultimately been up to her. If she hadn't done it, animal control would have. Two weeks ago two dogs killed  my grand daughters two pet ducks. Animal control took the dogs and those dogs have been put down.

Sometimes these “bleeding hearts” are more upset HOW it is done than that IT is done at all.

Can’t tell how many times I hear in racing circles how horrible it is that someone shot the horse, etc.  in the old days, too.  Instead of the kindly IV.  Ultimately it doesn’t matter, if the point was just to put him out of his misery.

Yes, nothing like running someone out of their job using the race card, all because they exposed you stealing from the coffers. Hope perp does some serious time.

And actually that angers me generally.

People seem more upset about words someone uses than actions.  Lives and jobs can be ruined on this childish tattle-tale mindset.

Noticed this about Dems long ago.  Look at their obsession with words and “hate speech”.  God forbid “that word”.  But they love to riot endlessly, and that’s ok.

If things get too desperate, they DOD can always break out the slingshots and pea shooters. *****rollingeyes*****
