Beating a Senate filibuster is unlikely, but some analysts see budget reconciliation as a way to enact a clean-energy transformation.
Now that President Joe Biden has assumed office, he can get to work on his pledge to move the nation to 100 percent clean energy.
During the campaign, Biden advocated a 100 percent clean energy standard pegged to 2035. This builds on state-level renewable portfolio standards, which spurred tremendous growth in renewables by mandating that utilities buy or produce a certain amount of clean power by certain deadlines. Biden wants to apply the concept nationally while front-loading investment in clean energy and technology to bring down costs.
Biden said he would make this policy technology-neutral, letting power companies choose the portfolio that makes sense to them. Still, coal- and gas-burning plants would have to go, and by 2035. That's a more ambitious timeline than states that passed their own 100 percent clean energy targets: Hawaii, California and others chose 2045 deadlines. Nearly all major electric utilities have pledged to go carbon-neutral or zero out emissions by 2045 or 2050.
Whether transforming the nation's electricity system in 15 years is possible remains an open question. Studies indicate that systemic decarbonization is feasible while keeping electricity reliable and affordable. It will surely require an unprecedented ramp-up of renewable construction and grid infrastructure investment, and likely some level of reliance on unproven emerging technologies.

A clean energy bill would end all subsidies of wind and solar (and other Green-BS) installations. Wind, solar, etc. CANNOT replace fossil-fuel, hydroelectric, and nuclear power. Weather and night happens.

Our sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is called BP Biojet. It is produced from sustainable, renewable feedstocks such as used cooking oil and other wastes. SAF can drop straight in to existing infrastructure and an aircraft. It is approved for use in jet engines with no technical changes to aircraft necessary.
In 2016 we were the first operator to start commercial supply of SAF through an existing hydrant fuelling system, at Norway’s Oslo airport, under our BP Biojet brand.

So we are to stop refining oil and instead increase our imports of biodiesel, becoming energy dependent on countries like Indonesia and Argentina? At least the massive increase in price will curb demand. Only rich liberals will be able to afford to fly.

🚨🚨Today, I led 19 States asking SCOTUS to reverse a decision which gives a green light to unilateral “decarbonization” orders from EPA.
Such broad EPA authority not only violates the Constitution; it would allow EPA to intrude into virtually every aspect of American life.
The EPA is supposed to be an environmental regulator, not a central economic planning authority. This case is huge for West Virginia and our nation!

Seems old cooking oil is not a clean fuel, does it? Could come from chicken frying vats or even imported from some God-forsaken 3rd world country without any type of standards. BP operates in many of them.
And I wonder what 'other wastes' mean?
Residue scraped from BP chemical waste sites?
