Witness Says Trump Did Not Personally Ask Him to Carry Out ‘Hush Money’ Payments
Epoch Times, May 6, 2024

A witness in former President Donald Trump’s New York “hush money” trial on Monday appeared to confirm his attorneys’ claims that payments at the center of the case were legal expenses and that he was not personally directed by the former president to make those payments.

Former Trump Organization controller Jeffrey McConney testified Monday that payments that were sent to former attorney Michael Cohen were legal expenses, confirming defense attorneys’ arguments.

“Michael Cohen was a lawyer?” Trump defense attorney Emil Bove asked Mr. McConney. “Sure, yes,” he replied.

“And payments to lawyers by the Trump Organization are legal expenses, right?” asked Mr. Bove. “Yes,” said Mr. McConney.

Later, Mr. McConney said that President Trump and Trump Organization official Allen Weisselberg never told him to log the payments to Mr. Cohen as legal expenses.

“President Trump did not ask you to do any of the things you just described?” the attorney then asked. “He did not,” Mr. McConney replied.

“And as far as you know, President Trump did not ask anyone to do those things?” Mr. Bove continued. “In none of the conversations that you had with Weisselberg, did he suggest that President Trump had told him to do these things?” he also asked.

“Allen never told me that,” Mr. McConney said.

Mr. McConney said his interactions with Mr. Cohen were “minimal.” He said that other than emails about invoices, he never spoke to Mr. Cohen about the reimbursement arrangement.

In court papers, Trump lawyers have described that the payments that were sent to Mr. Cohen as legal expenses, while prosecutors say that it was an attempt to cover up the true nature of the payments during an election. Mr. Cohen used the funds to pay adult film actress Stormy Daniels to not speak publicly about allegations about an affair in 2006, which President Trump has denied.

"at risk"?

We crossed that line a while ago...

Trump is not the big threat to America's heart and soul ... Trump is the symptom ... the corruption of America's heart and soul was Globalism ... the death of American exceptionalism ... and neglect and contempt for those whom Globalism left out, left behind, and forgot.

Our Founders believed that the Government closest to the People governed the best.

Globalism is the anti-thesis ... Globalism places power in the hands of the Governments furthest away from the people ... the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, the World Trade Organization, the International Monetary Fund, the World Health Organization, the European Union, European Parliament, etc.

The result is poor governance of the people, hence, that's why people are pissed at Government across the globe.  Farmers in Sri Lanka and Netherlands are pissed that the Globalists are taking away chemical fertilizers, destroying their livelihoods, and disrupting local economies, societies, and poltics - without the consent of the farmers themselves.

Globalism has established an international aristocracy not responsive to, and not accountable to, the People's of the World.

Trump is the monster Globalism created.

Well, rational people are advocating for peace and security.  This may not make the virtuous, either ---- but they do understand doing the same thing over and over and over again expecting a different outcome is insanity;  and this makes them pretty damn smart.

They had both peace and security before they invaded Israel with a murderous rampage. No one from Israel was threatening them. Gazans spent billions in resources digging tunnels and building bombs and rockets to kill Israelis, not a peaceful future.

They have no one to blame except themselves.

To not see that is willful blinding hate towards Jews.

Israel begins Rafah offensive after rejecting Hamas ceasefire ploy

Israel has begun its military operation into Rafah after rejecting Hamas’ cease-fire claim as a deception.

“The IDF is currently conducting targeted strikes against Hamas terror targets in eastern Rafah in southern Gaza,” the Israel Defense Forces said Monday night local time.

The world’s eyes are now on the southern city in the Gaza Strip, where more than 1 million Palestinians have taken refuge while fleeing war elsewhere in the territory.

President Biden has repeatedly warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to go ahead with the Rafah offensive unless the IDF could secure the safety of the civilians, with the president repeating himself during a call earlier Monday.

“The president was consistent again this morning that we don’t support ground operations in Rafah,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters prior to the advancement.

The announcement came shortly after Israel’s war cabinet unanimously voted to proceed with the attack on Hamas’ final stronghold in an effort to apply military pressure on the terror group, “with the goal of making progress on freeing the hostages and the other war aims,” Netanyahu’s office said.

The prime minister also slammed Hamas’ latest truce officer as “far from Israel’s obligatory demands.”

I know what you meant,.  My point is Benjamin Netanyahu is rightfully known throughout the Western world as a first class liar, especially when it comes to peace negotiations.  He's really not an honorable guy.

Frankly, I wasn't going to dignify this post...but I can't help myself sometimes, lol.

I think you mis-typed...didn't you mean that Hamas is rightfully known as first class liars, especially when it comes to peace negotiations. They aren't really honorable.  (Reference 10/7 when there was a cease fire in place)
