Would-be armed robbers, this looks like an invitation for you to Target Starbucks stores.
No, seriously. The company wants you to endanger its employees and customers, even hurt a few, for your personal financial gain.

I'm not giving a click to a probable clickbait site, but this webpage, https://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/starbucks-employee-stopped-robbery-and-then-fired-sues-company-rcna135681 , covers such a story - a robbery stopped by an employee a month ago, Starbucks firing him, and him suing for wrongful termination.
If his being fired surprises anyone, many retail companies have long forbidden employees to interfere with shoplifters and such. Walgreens had this policy 15 years ago when a family member worked there. One can back-and-forth over whether this prevents employees getting injured or it encourages theft and violence by thugs, but Starbucks doing this should not be surprising.

Years ago I worked for a local convenience store that was subsidiary of much larger chain. The store had been robbed 2x before and the policy was to just give them the money. we were insured and they wanted to keep u s alive. I was working the cash register one night and a kid comes in with a gun. I gave him the money. As he was running out two of our local cops were coming in for their nightly sandwich and soda. He was caught and I had to testify at the trial.. Interesting evening.
