Mr. Trump will not balance the budget. But we knew that.
NO Republican will balance the budget. But we know that, too.

You will not live to see a balanced budget.
If you have children, they will not live to see a balanced budget
If you have grandchildren, they will not live to see a balanced budget.
A self-fulfilling prophecy, Fishrrman, since if we do not balance the budget, there will not be a United States for our children to inherit.

Agree with Smokin' Joe.

If there aren't restrictions in place, sooner or later someone will try using some kind of tech to fundamentally alter the weather. Perhaps on a grand scale.

And the results will be...??

If you don't spell out in advance what is permissible and what is not, the left will jump into that "vacuum" and run away with their agenda.

How do you think any of The Founders would have replied if you asked them (back in the 1780's) if the Constitution they had just written protected homosexual marriage or trans-sexual surgery on minors?

You're right.  As long as Republicans are in charge.

Hoodat prognosticates:
"If Republicans balanced the budget, there would no longer be a Democrat Party."

Nothing against your opinion.
But the reality of the current situation points towards a different future.

Perhaps there will someday occur a calamity ... one so great that when (years later) the dust clears away, there MIGHT BE a "balanced" budget.

But the intervening events to reach that point are not any you or I, nor any other member of this forum would care to live through.

Hmmm... re the actual topic of the thread...
Although Mr. Musk is the wealthiest of all men, I really don't think his attempt at creating a "new" party will produce results any more lasting than, say, H. Ross Perot was able to obtain some years' back.

Now... If Mr. Trump proclaimed the creation of a new party... that could possibly get somewhere.
He is, after all, the first "independent" to be elected president.

Oh, no, you'll reply, he's "a Republican".
Well, not really.
Mr. Trump ... three times (not one, not two, but THREE)... stole the Republican Party's horse, jumped aboard, and rode to victories. He was cheated out of one of them. But the other two count...

Made me laugh. Yeah right? Let's all join the new Reform Party!
Elon is a bipolar genius. He is as unstable as he is brilliant.

As we have already seen, a month from now he may say ...
Nope, changed my mind. I'm back with Trump now.

Elon Musk is Great! (but he is also bonkers)

Say what you want about Musk.  But he handed you a winning strategy that would cement Republican control over government for the next quarter century.  Yet when the vote came down, the current Party chose Democrat-lite.  Again.  So the Dems will still have $40 billion in USAID money over the next two years to siphon from to fund their 2026 races.  All because Republicans stupidly chose to reject the gift that Musk handed them.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

This ⬇️ reference to zealots is a rage.  Granted, it's a little low-T, but a rage nonetheless.

So, why do you still rage against Trump supporters?

You clearly are confusing 'ecstasy' with 'rage'.  Considering how much you hate Conservatives and how much you support all the Democrat policies that Trump backs, I am really surprised that you would not be thrilled at this turn of events.  Musk (and Conservatives) want to balance the budget.  They want to end deficit spending.  They want to marginalize the Fed.  They want smaller government.  They want to end corruption.  So this is a wonderful opportunity for you to detach yourself from those opposed to your political philosophy.  Again, you should be ecstatic.

There is no such thing as a winning national, one issue political party.

That may be true. But it's one helluva good start. If Musk stays in classic libertarianism, Conservatives will naturally hear him.

Musk’s primary threats pose danger for Republicans

No, it is the Republicans' insistence to lie to their voters by backing Democrat spending and funneling money right back to the Democrat Party that poses a danger to Republicans.

If Republicans balanced the budget, there would no longer be a Democrat Party.
