A high-ranking Westchester County police official drove the getaway car for her son in an apparent gangland shooting in The Bronx, police and sources said Tuesday.

Jennifer Lackard, a deputy police commissioner with the Mount Vernon Police Department, was arrested at her home Tuesday morning, along with her son, Chase Lackard, 20, after the young man allegedly shot at a group of rivals near the Bronx Criminal Court on June 29 at 11:57 p.m, police said.

He then rushed into her car before she drove off, according to sources.  ...

The pair were hit with attempted murder, attempted assault, criminal possession of a firearm, conspiracy and reckless endangerment charges. ...

The gangbanging son of a Westchester County police bigwig had a Bronx court date just minutes before he allegedly opened fire on a rival – with his cop mom and ex-con dad as getaway drivers, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Chase Lackard, 20, faced a judge on a 2024 gun rap just 20 minutes before the alleged June 29 drive-by gang shooting – with help from his mom, disgraced Mount Vernon Deputy Police Commissioner Jennifer Lackard, and drug-dealing dad James Lackard, according to prosecutors.

“He’s captured on cameras running into this courthouse,” Bronx Assistant District Attorney Keturah Ladd told the judge. “He had a court date and a court appearance on the third floor of this building.” ...

According to sources and news reports, Jennifer Lackard co-founded and ran a North Carolina nonprofit with her ex-con hubby, which was shut down after James Lackard’s conviction.

Jennifer Lackard moved north and joined the Bronx community board and started a new nonprofit in the borough, Re-Entry Link LLC, before she was hired to the newly created position by Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard.

It is not immediately clear why Patterson-Howard hired Lackard despite her checkered past, affiliation with an ex-con and lack of experience in law enforcement. ...
Here's the mayor who gave the criminal a job with her city's police department (note the anti-gun background!):

Won't she claim she can't be charged because she's in a sanctuary city and state and she has equal rights as illegals? *****rollingeyes*****

A suburban New York police official accused of driving the getaway car for her son's alleged gang shooting reportedly had connections to the mayor's office when she landed the leadership role.

Court records indicate Jennifer Lackard, 49, and her son Chase, 20, were both arrested by the New York Police Department on Tuesday in connection with a June 29 drive-by shooting at rival gang members near the Bronx Criminal Court.

Prior to her arrest, Lackard worked as the deputy commissioner of wellness for the Mount Vernon Police Department.

I think someone should investigate for other irregularities in that department and administration. :headbang:
