by John Carney24 Apr 20171,632
Barack Obama has agreed to a $400,000 fee for speaking to a prominent Wall Street firm, according to Charlie Gasparino of the Fox Business Network.
Former president Obama will speak to a health care conference sponsored by Cantor Fitzgerald in September, Gasparino reports.

He had better watch his back. That is twice what either Bile or Madam Clinton get and it will piss them off. ****slapping
-
It would be nice if someone could demonstrate quid pro quo somewhere.
-
Guilty party is Cantor Fitzgerald. I invite conservatives to divest any association with anyone who would court this socialist.

We need to rethink the pensions paid to former presidents. It's crazy to give them $200k+ of taxpayer money every year when they're out there giving half-million dollar speeches and signing multi-million dollar book deals.

Sadly we don't have the ability to get prospective POTUS to sign binding pledges that disallow them from benefiting more than. $1M / year for their service after office.

And it is hard to prove they aren't providing just a token service and reaping the benefits of their actions during their time in office.
As an aside, what's the hourly wage on $400K for a 'talk'?
That has to be close to a record.
-
The only relevant question is what exactly does Cantor Fitzgerald (the same firm whose entire staff was killed on 9/11) hope to purchase with their investment.

Or what did they get that they are saying 'thank you' for now?

He is entitled to it. Destroying a country in 8 years is hard work.

Bill Clinton's gotten a heckuva lot more from single speeches.

Bill Clinton sold the Chinese the capability to put men in orbit (and a payload anywhere), among other things, disguised as 'trade deals'. That builds a considerable annuity.
It remains a transfer of wealth from student activity fees and grants (both fed by either taxpayers dollars in the form of student loans or grants or by 'gifts' from wealthy donors) to Liberals.
How many conservative speakers have been denied even the opportunity to speak on college campuses of late? The money is being funneled to the Liberals, ultimately from taxpayers.
It's a thinly veiled money laundering scheme, imho.
