Chris Matthews also thinks the Democrats are screwed in 2020.
-
This woman is living proof that mainstream journalism is corrupt and outsized in its influence.
The media is anti-American, anti-constitution and rejects the results of elections when democrats lose; and it has given up on the long political tradition in America of a peaceful transition of administrations.
A very dangerous mix that can lead to civil war in America.
-
Interesting, not many people would have the courage to break out of their echo chamber.
-
Trumps rallies are bringing in 57% not Republican. I think that the Republican party is screwed. We might avert pure socialism for the Ivanka Trump socialism light. But we lose. We lose any moral ground that we were trying to cling to. We lose the homosexual agenda fight also. The church loses freedom to be separated from politics. It becomes a platform for a president that is pushing global gay rights.
We lose. We have become the Democratic party as that party moves even further left. And we may be Democrat light now, but we will suffer the same fate, eventually caving to every social engineering political doctrine.

I think @Chosen Daughter does make some good points that cannot be ignored. Yes, we may advert the unapologetic socialism of a Bernie Sanders. But four more years of Trump does not mean that liberalism is rolled back in anyway nor is the debt going to go down but it’s going to continue to go up
-
I'm still trying to get my head around the notion that non-Republicans coming to Trump's rallies is a bad thing.

Doesn’t make sense, does it?
The National Parties devote considerable energy trying to attract new voters to their side. And that’s normally a good thing—unless it’s Trump attracting them.

No. The last (only) time attracting Democrats worked out well was Reagan embracing the Christian Right... To attract Democrats nowadays is to move left.
-
The "we're screwed" caption isn't correct coming out of her mouth. She clearly states she's no longer a Democrat and that many Democrats are unhinged. She's avoiding being one of them.
-
Moving leftward.
The possibility exists these are people moving in the other direction.

I watched it, and you are correct. The headline is click bait.

I think that's oversimplified.

Sweeping generalizations? Here at TBR? Say it ain’t so.

Not very likely. Anything that was ever the least bit Conservative on the left has long ago gone Republican, Libertarian, or independent.
-
I think that's oversimplified.
I think not. Remember the Hitlery femminists holding hands with McCainiacs? SOSDD.

@EdinVA
It's good to see someone come to the realization that the REAL "liberals" are conservatives. The Dims stole that title to use as cover because if they admitting to their fascist/communist dreams of the future, they would get no support. To succeed ,they MUST lie to everyone.
Frankly,I honestly believe a lot of them are lying to themselves because it makes them feel good instead of like the guilty slackers they really are.
-
Jennifer Rubin, is that you?
@Free Vulcan
Some people just ain't happy unless they have something to complain about. Give one of them a free pizza that is starving, and they will scream at you for trying to make them fat and destroy their health.
-

@aligncare
They are terrified of Trump being re-elected and successful at reversing the leftism of the RINO's and their butt-buddies the Dims, and having to admit they were wrong. These people are NEVER wrong. Don't believe me,just ask them.
-
I think that's oversimplified.
Exactly.
1. Trump pursues the "Christian Right, successfully"
2. In the days of "Reagan democrats," they weren't "Christian Right" but instead many were traditional blue collar union types, national security types, etc.
3. The idea for Republicans to not seek democrat voters, is simply brain dead, politically ignorant.
4. The Kanye-Candace-Blexit movement, the "walk-away movement, seek to add democrat voters, a rational sane goal, in a politically intelligent arena.

@sneakypete
I don't know if they are "lying" to themselves or they are so accustomed to the group think that they have never sat down and asked themselves why they believe in something.
Trumps tweets, as irritating as they are at times, is making folks look around and see if what they think is true really is.
-
The possibility exists these are people moving in the other direction.
Of course it exists and it's more of a "probablility". These self-identified Democrats are not attending the rallies to disrupt the proceedings, and I have not seen Trump alter his presentation style or substance one iota from his overwhelmingly Conservative message and priorities. They're blue collar Democrats and Independents who are flocking to the patriotic, America-first security and economic agenda this Administration has promoted and executed.
This article below is a much more interesting and analytical overview of the unusual Trump rally demographics than the dismal offerings of a couple of the "usual suspects" around here:

Maybe not to you but the numbers are incredible. Far less Republicans than Democrats. I stand by what I said because as you can see the number of Democrats outweighs the number of Republican. Tells me that it is no longer Republican. If its good to you then enjoy your Democratic party.
-
The possibility exists these are people moving in the other direction.
I see that with older "union" democrats - many feel left behind by the dem party's recent prioritization of illegal immigration, gun control etc. Of course they're still pro-union, so not exactly conservative, but tired of their votes supporting far more of what they don't want than what they do.

I do find it somewhat amusing that somebody could consider Trump bringing in new supporters is a bad thing. It feeds the perception that there is absolutely nothing Trump does that isn't terrible. He could cure cancer and there would be people in the streets complaining about all the out-of-work Oncologists.

Like it or not, the votes of people who call themselves independents are an absolute necessity for victory. If attendance at Trump's rallies was 100% repub, no matter how large a number, it would be a bad sign not just for Trump but for congressional repubs as well.

And I am always amused by those whose only thought is to steal voters from their opponent - infecting their party in much the same way that Californication infects the west.
The money shot is in the independents, and even more so, the disaffected that are not voting. That is the vast sea.

I'm marginally interested in their opinions. I don't expect votes from the partisan Rats, just the Indies.

What do expect from former partisan rats?
-
Maybe not to you but the numbers are incredible. Far less Republicans than Democrats.
There are far less Republicans than Democrats in the nation, period. It is a positive sign that so many self-proclaimed democrats are embracing the messages of American sovereignty, a strong military, individual freedom --- "God, Country, Family" and the American dream still beat in the hearts of so many of us; and labels be damned. :patriot:
-
I respectfully disagree.
There are literally, MILLIONS of registered Democrat voters that didn't sign up for "change".
Change, as merely an excuse to remove President Trump? With this economy?? :smokin:
As Hillary implied...she'd "...take half of Washington with me, if I go down", POTUS Trump is 'this' close to tipping that first domino.
They're all buried up to their corrupt arses in Ukraine.
-
What do expect from former partisan rats?
I'd have to be convinced there are such animals.

Typical ridiculous response. Did you even read what this woman said? She found joy and love at the Trump rally and realized there was nothing but hate and vindictiveness in the democrats. These people who are walking away are walking away from hate and the left ... and from you, Chosen Daugter.

First she found love with Pete Buttigieg, who she voted for before attending the Trump rally. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those Democrats are plants.

I wouldn't put it past the Dems to inflate numbers at Trump rallies. But after looking this gem up I don't think that is what it is. This woman was probably hired to do this. Just think of all the Democrats attending Trump rallies this is the one they pick to go viral.

Of all the people they pick this self described pro choice liberal from Boston. Who BTW has a Ukrainian name. Who tells this web chat site that she doesn't know if she will vote for Trump.

What possible purpose would be served by those "plants" quietly attending a Trump rally, then going home? If they went there and disrupted, sure, that would make sense. But simply showing up to be counted, then leaving? That makes zero sense. "Inflating" the numbers at a Trump rally actually helps Trump.
All that being said, I would not be the least bit shocked if some of those Democrats were actually Republicans who simply lied to the media/pollsters out of general principle. I personally do that all the time simply because I so despise the press.

I despise the press too, and the chief reason for that is their use of polls to drive public opinion, rather than honestly measuring it. I spent a quarter century measuring things in the R&D labs of a large Semiconductor company, and I see the press commissioned push-polls as debasing my life's work.
