A Canadian doctor has suggested that babies with severe deformities could be euthanized under the country's controversial assisted suicide laws.

Quebec College of Physicians member Louis Roy has been condemned by a lobbying group after a comment he made during a 2022 parliamentary committee resurfaced.

Roy previously said that under current Canadian law, assisted suicide could be considered for infants up to one year old with severe ailments.

Brandan Tran, Director of Public Affairs and Outreach for political lobby group Campaign Life Coalition, has condemned this comment.

'These are not concerns from the fringes, but statements from a member of a provincial medical college, recommendations before parliament, and the reality of MAiD right now in Canada,' he said.

'A member of the Quebec College of Physicians formally stated that MAiD "may be an appropriate treatment for babies" from birth to one year of age with severe deformities.' ...

Canadian doctors - like Natasha Johnson - must really hate the children under their "care."

After the mother of one patient of Dr. Natasha Johnson’s pediatric gender clinic, Elaine, expressed concern about a potential mastectomy for her 15 year old child, Clara, the clinic’s social worker called child protective services to report her as potentially abusive, prompting an investigation. Elaine kept her mouth shut going forward. Her daughter had the mastectomy, became so anorexic she nearly died, and detransitioned at 17.

Terrifying new details of Canada's advancing assisted suicide laws... including push to euthanize newborn BABIES
By GERMANIA RODRIGUEZ POLEO, US CHIEF REPORTER
Published: 10:02 EDT, 25 August 2025 | Updated: 12:50 EDT, 25 August 2025

Canada's assisted suicide laws have continued rapidly expanding in recent years, with a group of doctors now pushing for disabled newborn babies to be euthanized.

The demand for euthanasia is so high that doctors who provide it cannot keep up, according to a new report by The Atlantic.

Assisted dying, legalized in 2016, now accounts for about one out of 20 deaths in Canada, far surpassing countries where it's been legal for longer.

As assisted deaths have become a major part of Canada's health care system, the Quebec College of Physicians suggested legalizing euthanasia for infants born severely ill. ...

The Quebec College of Physicians told Daily Mail on Monday 'The CMQ reiterates that medical assistance in dying may be an appropriate treatment for babies suffering from extreme pain that cannot be relieved and who have severe malformations or serious polysymptomatic syndromes that destroy any prospect of survival.

'The CMQ believes that parents should have the opportunity to obtain this care for their infant under these well-defined circumstances.' ...
