Just days after Eric Trump spat upon by waitress, WaPo publishes op-ed justifying harassment of restaurant customers over politics
By Thomas Lifson

The Washington Post is all-in on stoking the fire of public harassment of Trump supporters, denying them public accommodations. So much for civility and mutual respect.

That’s the only conclusion to draw from this op-ed (non-paywall version here) published by the largest newspaper in our nation’s capital, written by Stephanie Wilkinson, the owner of the Red Hen Restaurant that kicked out Sarah Sanders and her family while dining there.

The paper proudly tweeted out its contribution to the loss of civility.

As long as the WaPo understands the lack of civility can run both ways.

To treat someone as evil solely because their political beliefs are in opposition to your own is indefensible as a matter of civic morality.

The only exception exists where another person's beliefs and/or actions are themselves demonstrably evil; in that event one has no obligation to serve or otherwise interact with them.

In this instance, Progressive Democrats are treating Republicans generally, and Trump supporters specifically as though they were not merely misguided, but evil. Insofar as these categories contain many millions of people, the vast majority of whom are provably not evil, what the Washington Post et al. are proposing as a supposedly legitimate course of action would in time lead to civil strife and far, far worse.

One reasonably wonders whether this is in fact their goal, or else, is it to silence the voices of dissent from their smelly little orthodoxies, the result of which would also in short order lead to repression and violence?

Their goal is civil unrest. Joe Biden made that clear when he said he wants a Physical Revolution against anyone opposed to Leftist fanaticism. Like the National Socialists before them, the American National Socialists seek to achieve by force and violence what they cannot achieve by debate and public discourse. This is in no way surprising. This is what Socialist/Communist have always done, all throughout history and all over the world.

These are mean-spirited evil people who believe that their mission is so Holy that anything they do is justified, including violence and murder. The same as it always has been with Socialists.

Wilkinson makes a good case for bakeries who don't want to bake cakes celebrating same-sex marriage.
