Noem publisher removing North Korea leader meeting reference from book
by Lauren Sforza - 05/06/24 7:42 AM ET

The publisher of South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s (R) upcoming book said it will be removing an anecdote about North Korean leader Kim Jong Un from reprints at her request.

Noem’s book has faced scrutiny in recent days for including the anecdote, which describes her meeting the North Korean leader while traveling during her days in Congress. After multiple reports raised questions about its accuracy, a spokesperson for her office said Kim “was included in a list of world leaders and shouldn’t have been.”

Center Street, the publisher for Noem and other conservative politicians, said on Sunday that it will be removing the passage about Kim from reprints of the book, “No Going Back,” at the request of the governor. It will also remove the passage “as soon as technically possible” from the ebook and audiobook editions.

The publisher referred any further questions to Noem on the issue.

Noem said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday that she addressed the issue in her book as soon as it was brought to her attention but did not directly say whether she met Kim or not.

“You know, as soon as this was brought to my attention, I certainly made some changes and looked at this passage, and I’ve met with many, many world leaders. I’ve traveled around the world. As soon as it was brought to my attention, we went forward and have made some edits,” Noem told host Margaret Brennan when asked if she ever met Kim.

She added that she has met with “many world leaders,” but again did not say whether she met Kim. While Noem had visited China as part of her time on the House Armed Services Committee in 2014, there were no reports of Kim leaving North Korea until 2018, when Noem was campaigning for governor, The Dakota Scout noted.

Yep, me too!

But then I haven't understood all the pearl-clutching and vapors over putting down an animal that attacks livestock and humans.

That is not at all what puts people off @Smokin Joe surely, she could have found other things to write about in her book.

I have dispatched a few animals myself for assorted reasons but have never felt the need to talk much about it.

The End of Old Left-wing Mythologies › American Greatness
The one-eyed Jack American Left has been flipped over, and what turned up proved frightening.

The current radical and often violent protests on mostly blue-state, supposedly elite campuses have exposed in toxic fashion what the left has become. And yet, in a paradoxical fashion, the campus insanity has offered the nation some moral clarity.

What’s surprising is not that the demonstrators are violent and nihilist, but that they are, on the one hand, so openly and crudely anti-Semitic, racist, and anti-American, and yet on the other hand, so passive-aggressive, narcissistic, and weepy.

Nevertheless, the antics of the campus cry-bullies have exploded myths that were for so long foisted on the American people by politicos and the media.

Netanyahu spoke at Yad Vashem yesterday, Holocaust Remembrance Day. Much/most of his speech was in Hebrew, but he also spoke part of it in English. He pointed out that during the Holocaust, no nation supported the Jews being slaughtered. He added that if no nations supports Israel now in it fight against people who wanted to, again, slaughter Jews, Israel would fight alone. He said that he has hopes for better. He ended with, "Never Again is now."

Frat Boy Summer is this year’s backlash against an epidemic of arrogant, entitled women
By Social Links for Miranda Devine

Behold the “frat boys” unapologetically saving Old Glory, singing the national anthem, chanting “USA, USA, USA,” and rudely ridiculing the campus freaks who parade around in Hamas colors and barricade themselves in university buildings.

God forbid! They look like Trump voters.

This display of irrepressible masculinity erupting in Gen Z is an affront to the grand societal feminization project of the left, which has only itself to blame.

Frat Boy Summer is this year’s backlash against an epidemic of arrogant, entitled women who have been coddled all their lives and think they’re smarter and more important than they really are.

It is a manifestation of the growing political divide between men and women that has been evident in opinion polls for some time. There is a 10-point gap on most issues between men and women.

Young unmarried women, in particular, skew very left, while young men are becoming markedly more conservative.

Report: Biden Administration Halts Ammunition Shipment to Israel

A shipment of U.S. ammunition bound for Israel last week was halted by the Biden administration for reasons yet to be made clear, a report Sunday claimed.

Israeli officials were left scrambling as to why the shipment was withheld, Axios reported, while CNN declared the decision was unrelated to U.S. opposition to an invasion of the Hamas terrorist stronghold of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The Biden administration recently signed off on $26 billion in military and humanitarian aid for Israel in its war against Hamas terrorists but officials have repeatedly warned against moving into Rafah, where over a million displaced Palestinians are sheltering from the war.
