Don’t believe the Democrat-driven anti-Trump hype about Tuesday night’s election results, said LevinTV host Mark Levin. The real blame for the election losses lies with Republican leadership in Congress.
Levin went on to explain that in addition to factors like immigration and Democrat-leaning northern Virginia's increasing political clout, one of the biggest factors Tuesday night — most notably, Ed Gillespie's loss in Virginia's gubernatorial race — was the repeated failures of the do-nothing Republican Congress.
This should serve as a wake-up call, said Levin.

As the media focus started to shift to Hillary's very real crimes, up to and including questions of selling strategically important resources to a potential enemy for fun and profit, the Dems have whipped out the "Impeachment" kerfuffle to take the heat off the Uranium One investigation.
It's a distraction and if Republicans will ignore it and just say "No way. Now about Hillary...", and the corruption at the DOJ, and move on with their eyes on the prize (and prosecute), they won't get their asses handed to them.

To be honest I never listened to Levin. Never did like him. However, Rush, Sean, and 99% of other talk shows, the act is old. It is just the same old crap.

In Shapiro's case, he does not tie his morality to Trump as a measure of righteousness. Neither have I read anything from him that would indicate he equates his faith via whom he votes for and puts all his trust in.
Medved from the couple of times I have listened to him is just another Establishment hack, so I pay him no mind whatsoever.

Levin is good, Rush is fantastic, about the one I can really get excited about listening to whenever I can is Larry Elder. This board, where we can participate in it ourselves, takes the place a bit of listening to these talking heads... but what Rush says is usually or often worth listening to or reading the transcript if one wants to know what is really going on. One can find fault with them all, Hannity tells one what is up, I listened to him with Jay Sekulow some yesterday.

I despised Trump before the election. I was also sure he would lose. I'm still amazed that he won but, oh, so glad.
His winning saved our country. Four years of Hillary would have put a seal on Obama's attempt to ruin the country entirely.
So, yes, I'm for Trump. He can be his own worst enemy but he's our Republican President right now and not doing a bad job at all.
Instead of rallying around him ... as the dems rallied around the loathsome Obama and the crooked Hillary, we mindlessly join the dems and the crooked press in criticizing him.
What do we criticize him about? Mostly his tweets and his associates. Trump is not good yet at choosing associates but he's learning.
On major policy issues, he has the right intentions, many of which have been foiled by judges or his own party.
Republicans deserve to lose if they cannot get their act together and get over their petty grievances with their President.

Many of our dear friends and fellow posters have no greater joy than when they are finding something to criticize about Trump.
Why? Maybe we all need a little time on the couch but I find no joy whatsoever in criticizing Trump. I hate to do it and most of the time I don't.
But "they" are so much better ... so much smarter; so much more cultured. They cannot bring themselves to support Trump because that would compromise their own morality and values.
Guess what? Nobody is asking them to support Trump's moral values, whatever they think those values are (but we don't really know).
I'm simply wishing that they could at least bring themselves to support the Trump presidency if not the man.

They no longer stand for limited government, maximum liberty and fiscal responsibility. The GOP now stands for massive government, maximum dependency and fiscal irresponsibility.

Ted Cruz is a good example. I love all his ideas. He's the best conservative in the country right now.
But, does anybody think he could get the current Congress off their butts?
The main thing a President can do about getting legislation passed is to go directly to the people and Trump has done that.
Don't believe those polls. I know Trump is popular still. I know it because all of my contacts, some of them former democrats, like Trump. All the posts on Facebook against Trump are heartily derided.
I thought that Trump's first year was going to be rough. It was to be expected with an outsider, who has little experience with how DC works, and especially with those with a vested interest in him not succeeding. But now it's time for him to take charge with Congress and to make them realize that if he goes down, they will go down with him, and they'd better figure out, for all of their sake to work together. Now is the time for Trump to Lead. Is he up to it? We shall see.

I don't disagree. Thus far, Trump's approach is to wait for a bill to magically come across his desk for him to sign, he just thought by magic, the GOP would make it happen. It doesn't work that way.
That may be his biggest flaw, treating Congress like a co-equal branch of govt and expecting them to do their job.
IMO, the last card to play, is for Trump to get active in particularly the Senate races to get do-something Republicans to run and win. Get the Senate up to around 60 votes and start squeezing McConnell to make the nuclear option permanent. Tell McCain, Collins, and Murkowski to sit and spin.
Then use a bully pulpit full court press for action.

Have we all become such complete doddering fools that we've forgotten the GWB days? W was a perfect statesman and complete opposite of the rougher and cruder Trump.
And what happened? The media and the left savaged W with a firestorm of whipped up hysteria and propaganda just as loud and noisy as what they're pulling against Trump today. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
So the Reps who are hand wringing with angst and morally outraged over every little thing Trump says and does that they find not civil enough - remember that.
And we lost Congress in '06 with the perfect civil statesman W at the helm. Why? Because of a GOP do-nothing Congress. GOP doesn't turn out. Same scenario setting up today. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Are we going to tizzy ourselves into a seizure over tweets, or demand Congress gets something done?
So now the media have upped their game. Now we have billionaires doing the 'fireside chat' thingy to go on national teevee and advocate for the people to push their congresscritters to impeach.
And, not to be outdone, the polished work of racist agitprop in the anti-Gillespie commercial which aired in Virginia, one which basically sent a message that anyone of color should be afraid for their children of white men in pickup trucks.

Frankly, his campaign was just the same promises the GOP candidates for Congress were making. Little doubt he studied which promises were most important to the GOTV effort, and, frankly, said most of the exact same things: Control the Border, repeal the ACA, get oil flowing in pipelines, cut taxes, end the war on coal, build a Wall, etc.
I just think he is surprised to find out that the Congressional candidates were basically lying for votes and not in support of that agenda. So, the bills he likely anticipated in the first 100 days failed to materialize not out of disloyalty to Trump (that never was a factor), but the fundamental perfidy of the Congress reneging on their campaign promises.

Republicans have been increasingly treating conservatives with the contempt born of people who think others have no other choice.
Well, that's fundamentally wrong.
There is always a choice, and my choice has been increasingly to drift to the right of the Republican Party, relatively speaking. It hasn't required any effort, really, all I have done is stand my ground, adhere to principles and watch as the GOP has veered to port.
That doesn't mean that I haven't been vocal about the GOP's errant course, just that my words and the words of millions of others have fallen on deaf ears.
Efforts to become more involved have been met with changing meeting schedules and locations, microphones powered down during comment periods which were cut short (because the chair couldn't hear the people whose microphone had been powered down) and railroaded votes, even over the very vocal objections of people present.
This past year was the end, though, when the State GOP had neither caucus nor primary for president. I refuse to lend my support to a political entity which does not at least allow my small voice, my VOTE.
The GOP can sod off, for all I care. It has been the do-nothing party which has ineffectually mewled and sniveled excuses about why it is impotent, even when in the majority, while the leadership smugly turns ever a deaf ear to those it treats with worse contempt than the special interest groups the Democrats keep down on the farm.
The fracture has become a rift.
I will do what I can for the Constitution Party. What better Party platform than the Constitution of the United States?
Through perfidy and inaction, the GOP is killing itself, going the way of the Whigs.
