She is still defending her opinion and what she claims was a victory.
But New York’s Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is simultaneously taking fire for those very things.
The hits have come following Ocasio-Cortez celebrating the news that the business giant Amazon was pulling out of a deal to set up shop in New York. The sudden reversal cost the city thousands of jobs and billions in future revenue, but Ocasio-Cortez billed it as a win for the common citizen.

Her nonsense needs to be exposed to a larger population outside the left wing bubble. My only criticism of the sign is they should have spelled out her name instead of just her initials

I think people underestimate the value of publicity.
"All publicity is good publicity." is a very true statement. Not everybody is going to see that sign and process it the same way you do.

You’re young and still naive but I promise very few people are ecstatic of revenue loss and losing potential high paying jobs
In the AOC bubble, of course, they celebrate that and those people will see that sign and cheer that. I agree with that. But outside in the real world that don’t fly. Imagine governor running on a record of job loss and revenue loss for their state.
How would you feel towards someone who just lost you lots of money and cost you a good paying job?
So have faith. Most thinking people outside her base will process that the same as myself

Our young friend Dexter hasn’t had enough life experience but does anybody here ever recall any elected official boasting about how he/she chased away good paying jobs and billions in tax revenue?
Bravo to those who put that sign up. That’s the kind of stuff conservatives should be going after her for and tying her to the Democratic Party. Not her clothes or her living arrangements
She is in a safe district but make her, Waters, and the three anti Semitic sisters the face of the DNC

Casual voters don't know what to think a lot of the time because both extremes are so hell bent on destroying the other that they'll gladly bend reality and molest context in attempts to make the other look bad. The extreme left and right don't have a lot of credibility with everybody else I think, so a lot of people will look at that and not get anything more than "Oh, that person exists and somebody really doesn't like her."

Agreed, @Dexter. And this is most excellent publicity. But the subject, and the point, isn't AOC. It's socialism. If the Republicans can turn 2020 into a referendum on job-killing, authoritarian, brain-dead socialism, by golly they can win.

They need to make her, along with a few others, the face of the direction the Democratic Party is heading.
AOC is one person. But it’s her ideas along with all the 2020 candidates and how much the Democratic Party itself is going to embrace them that can be made the issue. Most people outside of New York won’t see that sign. But I’m safe in saying that most people do like good paying jobs and having more money in their paychecks. They are also not keen on paying more into an expanding welfare state
However, that’s just one side of a coin. The Republicans are probably going to lose having credibility on the debt. And that is unfortunate in the long term
