Giuliani's son considering NYC mayoral bid: report
'My focus is going to be on how we can save New York City again'
By Ronn Blitzer | Fox News

The son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani may be following in his father's footsteps, telling the New York Post that he may run for mayor in 2021.

The elder Giuliani has been highly critical of current Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Andrew is no different. In discussing his potential political plans, he warned that if the next mayor is like the present one, the city could descend to lows not seen in decades.

"I am certainly thinking about it. It’s something that a bunch of people that I trust have approached me with,” Andrew Giuliani, 34, told The Post. “It’s been terrible to see over the last few years how the city has spiraled. I am afraid if the right candidate doesn’t win in 2021, four more years of de Blasio’s policies will remind us of the '80s."

He went on to say that de Blasio "does not value the New York Police Department and he does not value what they have done for the city," citing recent budget cuts and the elimination of the plainclothes anti-crime unit.

Why?

Good question.  His skill set is nowhere near as impressive as his father's.

Someone needs to make DeBozo look good.

Someone needs to make DeBozo look good.

I could do that, and I've never set foot in that town.

Rudy was not without corruption, but many praised him for his actions on 9-11.  Some will vote for his son simply because of the Giuliani name and the notoriety that comes with it.

I think Blazzio is done with. NYC is dead -- maybe Giuliani will make a positive impact.  Others will continue to vote liberal regardless.

All you would have to do is promise them a drink at the Castle bar served by your barmaids.  Done deal.

Does anyone remember Giuliani's son running loose around the podium while he was giving a major public speech? It was disgusting. That was the day my opinion of Giuliani changed towards the negative big time.

For entertainment, we have nightly golf ball bonfires!  And you watch:  That Castle Bar (with the barmaids) will be the eventual launch of my candidacy for Mayor of my little town.

This is apparently in 1994 but isn't the specific incident I remember:

Why not?

It's NYC. It's not like they have any standards to lower.

For now, Andrew works as a public liaison assistant for President Trump
Rudy was a U.S. Attorney before he ran for mayor. I'd suggest young Andy get a few years under his belt at a real job, too.

That's what I think.  The CV needs a LOT of beefing up.

It's hard for me to get worked up over an 8-year-old behaving like an 8-year-old, but OK.  It's not relevant to this discussion, because I think the kid's experience is not up to the job of repairing the post-O'Blasio world.  I don't know of anybody who can, the bench in NY is so shallow.

I was disgusted with his parents not the kid. I was raised very differently.

Yeah, I get your point.  Me too.
