I’m not sure if you’ve noticed — although the typical National Review reader is a pretty “tuned in” sort of cat — but the United States House of Representatives is currently a gigantic, smoke-belching, sulfurously flaming tire fire that gives Springfield a run for its money. A couple of months ago, New York representative and former school principal Jamaal Bowman yanked a fire alarm with the practiced skill one only learns from juvenile truants, in order to delay a key House vote. A few days later, Matt Gaetz politically assassinated Kevin McCarthy but neglected to think too carefully about a backup plan. Lauren Boebert and Nancy Mace alike found unfortunate new ways to raise their name ID among their constituents. And now it’s Marjorie Taylor Greene’s turn for some diva time in front of the public eye on what has, by most people’s admission, become the first installment of America’s stupidest (yet perversely highest-stakes) reality television show: Catfighting in Congress.

Harsh but fair. Our founding fathers setup a wonderful system with the hope we don't elect a**clowns like Gaetz, AOC and MTG.

Just wait until the FBI starts issuing warrants for this stuff.

They won't bother with pesky warrants. The gummint will just call its buddy Bill Gates and he will hand over whatever they wants.  He's already done it.

I decided to be this way the day I retired.  Never regretted it. It really is liberating!  Not giving a crap what others think came very easy, because I didn't care about such things my entire life.

"News" outlets are engaged in feverish speculation about just how dystopian Donald Trump's second term might be. Their fervent imaginations overrule the reality of Trump's first term, which never devolved into dictatorship.

On Sunday, Politico's Joanna Weiss conducted a Q&A with liberal Samantha Rose Hill, a scholar of totalitarianism and the author Hannah Arendt. The headline was "‘A Truer Reality Beyond Reality’: Hannah Arendt’s Warning About How Totalitarianism Takes Root."

Although Stalinism and Nazism are touched upon (barely), the main focus was Orange Man Bad.

Senate votes to cancel Biden gas furnaces regulation with help from Democrats

.

The Senate approved a resolution that would roll back the Department of Energy’s energy efficiency standards for gas furnaces, setting the measure up for an expected veto from President Joe Biden.

The disapproval resolution, introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), would overturn a finalized rule from the DOE that would mandate energy efficiency standards for residential gas furnaces, with the aim of saving consumers money and cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

Cruz and other Republicans said the policy would effectively ban all non-condensing furnace models, forcing consumers to either adopt electric heat pumps or pay a high price to meet the requirements of the new residential furnaces.

“This rule is a continuation of the Biden administration’s capitulation to environmental radicals who value following climate dogma more than helping families actually provide for their kids and save for the future,” Cruz said during floor remarks.

The measure passed 50 to 45 with support of all present Republicans. Several Democrats crossed the aisle, including Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and Bob Casey (D-PA), as well as Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ).

Earlier on Tuesday, the White House issued a statement of administrative policy stating Biden would veto the measure, defending the rule as “technologically feasible, and economically justified.”
