More than 100 illegal immigrants arrested — and then released — by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials over the last five years were then charged with homicides after they were freed, a new report finds.

The report from the pro-immigration control group, Center for Immigration Studies, shows 121 criminal illegal immigrants caught and released by ICE between 2010 and 2014 were later charged with 135 homicide-related crimes; another three were charged with homicides in 2015, bringing the total to 124.

Two of the illegal immigrants in the group had already been convicted of homicide, were released, and went on to incur new homicide charges, according to the report.

The others accounted for 464 total criminal charges, ranging from drugs to drunken driving, before they were charged with homicide, the report finds.

The information was released to Congress by ICE and was analyzed by the Immigration Studies' Jessica Vaughan.

According to Vaughan, more than 156 immigrants with criminal records were released at least twice by ICE, averaging more than 11 charges per person.

"These criminal aliens racked up a total of 243 additional convictions after being freed by ICE," Vaughan writes. "The largest number (24) were for drunk or drugged driving, but they also included drug offenses, burglary, theft and larceny, and sex offenses."
