White House press secretary Jay Carney said that the administration would respond soon to a petition calling for the United States to deport Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.
“That response will come relatively soon,” Carney told reporters.
“On matters related to visas I refer you to DHS,” he added.
A petition calling on the administration to deport Bieber on Wednesday passed the 100,000-signature threshold needed to receive an official White House response.

The petition on the White House website asks the federal government to “deport Justin Bieber and revoke his green card.”
“We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture. We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked,” the petition reads.
“He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society,” the petition added.
As of 1:20 p.m. on Friday, the petition had 223,247 signatures.
Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach last week on charges of drunk driving, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license.

Moves to deport, and surrounding controversy, just lends more media hype, more controversy, more attention, and gives the punk "rebel" status.
And yutes long for and worship rebel status.

The deport movement is probably pushed by Bieber's PR team. If not, it should be.
