President Trump pushed Senate Republicans Friday to deliver on their health care promise, tweeting out his reaction on the continuing debate on Capitol Hill.
“Republican Senators are working hard to get their failed ObamaCare replacement approved. I will be at my desk, pen in hand!” he tweeted.
Mr. Trump pinned the blame for the troubled bill on Republicans in the Senate and name-checked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as the man to make it happen, emphasizing the campaign promise Republicans made year after year of “repeal and replace.”
“So impt Rep Senators, under leadership of @SenateMajLdr McConnell get healthcare plan approved. After 7yrs of O’Care disaster, must happen!” the president tweeted.
“After all of these years of suffering thru ObamaCare, Republican Senators must come through as they have promised!” he said.
Mr. Trump then seemed to pull back on criticism, calling the GOP “wonderful.”

I doubt Trump will actually read the bill or know what's in it. As I recall, he pushed the House bill as a repeal. If he had read the bill, he would have know it wasn't. Or maybe he just doesn't care.

That's one of the things that bugs me about Trump. If he really wants to push something through, he should be out there urging the people to contact their congress persons. He should be meeting with and schmoozing members of both houses. Instead, he wastes his time hobnobbing around Europe or sending out endless tweets about stupid stuff.

He doesn't care. He wants to be seen as 'winning' by his adoring mobs.
Recall that this is the guy who for his entire life up until last year was FOR Universal Single Payer healthcare. This is the guy who in January INSISTED that "his plan" for health care was that “We’re going to have insurance for everybody... they’ll be beautifully covered".

There's nothing that says McConnell won't decide to hold an up or down vote on each amendment and toss the Cruz Amendment out that way.
I don't trust the Senate leadership to do right by Cruz or Lee in any way shape or form.

That's what the people got when they elected him. He's a celebrity. He doesn't know much about the Constitution, and he'll sign whatever they put on his desk, free market or single payer, as long as he can get it done and move on.

That is EXACTLY what McConnell will do.
He wants Single Payer as intently as the Democrats do, despite what he claims to the contrary.

Uh, no is right. I can't believe people are still blaming Trump. I don't even like him and I don't blame him for this. He's advocated repeal and THEN replace.
It's not his job to stump for this, although he has done so many times.
It IS his job to sign the bill and he should ... unless McConnell manages to sabotage it at the last minute.

A certainty that Cruz' Amendment is going to end up out of the bill at some point, and McConnell will crow alongside the Donald that they 'fixed' Obamacare.

Total repeal of the ACA is the only course that is the right choice...the Conservative course and decision for America. Anything else is s slow slide towards Socialism.
And as I said there is nothing in Mitch McConnell's political history that says he won't try to do what he can to get anything the Liberals don't want tossed out of a bill brought before him.
Letting the Cruz Amendment into the bill at this point is a fig leaf.

All this is 100% horseshit. Even if the Cruz amendment was left alone, after passing the Senate, you effing know damned well right that the bleep will strip that language out as a part of the reconciliation process with the House.

I read the Deace piece. He kinda hung Ted out to dry, while praising him with one hand.
I think Cruz still has hopes that the bill will help us until we can do something better. I don't know what's wrong with the Senate we elected.

What's wrong is that the STATES no longer have any say in who populates the Senate and the people who do largely don't give a damn what the people who elect them want or think! They serve only themselves and their K Street masters!

At this point, doing nothing at all would be better than any bill McConnell will allow to pass. I would rather see it go bankrupt and have people pay out of pocket for all medical care than to have America itself go bankrupt with this current transfer of wealth.
