Jan. 6 committee votes to recommend Mark Meadows for prosecution
The House Select Committee to Investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol voted 9-0 on Monday to recommend former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows for prosecution for criminal contempt of Congress after he refused to testify before the panel.
The seven Democrats and two Republicans on the panel voted 9-0 in favor.
The House will take the next step the process of holding Meadows in contempt of Congress with a vote in the Rules Committee Tuesday morning. A vote by the full House on the measure could come the same day.
"Mr. Meadows was in contact with at least some of the private individuals who planned and organized a January 6 rally, one of whom reportedly may have expressed safety concerns to Mr. Meadows about January 6 events," Jan. 6 Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., wrote in a 51-page report released late Sunday. "Mr. Meadows used his personal cell phone to discuss the rally in the days leading up to January 6...............

Someone, please, explain to me how Meadows can be held in contempt when he has a lawsuit against the committee pending in the courts??
He has not ignored or refused a subpoena, he has asked for judicial clarificaton.

It’s a free country and Kinzinger/Cheney can of course support NeverTrump/Pelosi’s efforts to keep Dems in power next year by participating in the sham commission. But curious why they’re allowed to remain in GOP conference when their sole obsession is to harm GOP voters/causes?

A) Jordan on Meadows contempt of Congress resolution: What a charade. Make no mistake..when Democrats vote in favor of this resolution, it is a vote to put a good man in prison..

House votes to hold Meadows in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with 1/6 cmte subpoena. The vote was 222-208. Matter now goes to DoJ for potential prosecution. All Dems voted yea. GOPers Cheney & Kinzinger voted yea
