Houston Chronicle by  Sergio Chapa May 13, 2019

The heavy construction arm of Houston information technology company KBR has been tapped to build a proposed fourth production unit at Freeport LNG's export terminal in Brazoria County.

In a Monday morning announcement, Freeport LNG Development LP selected KBR as the preferred bidder for an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract for Train 4 at the liquefied natural gas export terminal near Freeport.

The first of three LNG production units at the facility has begun the weekslong startup process while the other two remain under construction. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is expected vote on Thursday about issuing a permit for a fourth production unit at the facility.

I guess the owners are not expecting to sell much to China.  If they were, this is a potentially bad investment unless they have a good plan B

There are lots of countries besides China that purchase LNG from us.

Absolutely we do.  I used to be on one company's LNG research marketing team and am versed on that fact.

More LNG capacity means more markets will have to be found, which was my point.

I just don't wish to see more crying going on like the chemical companies are now doing due to weak planning.  http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,361380.msg1970199.html#msg1970199 (http://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,361380.msg1970199.html#msg1970199)

Scenario analysis seems inadequately deployed there.  Those companies should have read up on Daniel Yergin's Russia 2010.

Oh, BTW, I was also a Worldwide Planning and Economist guy too, for a different company.

They better have contracted a hard deadline with strict penalties in place for every day KBR is late.
