Did you know that this Sunday is the Season Finally for this season Downton Abbey??
Already??
People cannot be happy about that. It must be horrendously expensive to produce, hence such few episodes......
-
Damn it just started and I bet we have to wait another year....just damn!

I've had Netflix for almost 2 years. Have watched mostly British Police procedurals. Typically a season over there, is just a few episodes.
Endeavor, Sherlock, Inspector Morse, Inspector Lewis, Foyle's War, etc. are examples of my point,

Yes! BBC has done some fine work. There is a series running now called "Island at War" that I want to get my hands on. It is supposed to be top notch.....
-
What a downer. Have to wait another year for three episodes of Sherlock, the single best thing I've seen on television since "24."
-
Anybody with high speed internet but no streaming yet, is really missing out.
For about $75 you can buy a Roku and for $7.99 monthly have Netflix. PBS is on Roku for free, as well as a few other channels.
If left only to me, I'd drop cable TV immediately and live off Netflix. I'd save at least $75 monthly if not more.
Did I mention how wonderful is to have no commercial interruptions? And you can do marathons, watching several episodes back to back, if you like. Perfect for 24, btw. Or Breaking Bad, etc.

Never heard of it but its on my Netflix wish list now. Thanks for the head's up.
Another really great one originally shown on BBC (which I missed) is Broadchurch. An 8 part detective murder who-done-it set in coastal England. Nick Nolte is supposed to be starring in an American version at some point. Unfortuantely, Broadchurch can only be accessed via Amazon, but I treated myself and downloaded and binge-watched all the episodes one snowy day last month. Highly recommend.

Cool! Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn is starring in the American version.

If you haven't seen them: The Paradise and Larkrise to Candleford are both stunningly good series.

It's the English model. Their seasons are typically only six at a time, compared to twenty plus for American shows.

Alas, neither being offered on Netflix at the moment, but I'll keep an eye out.
-
World Without End was good too - Not as good as the book though.

Amazon Prime?

Ugh. I knew somebody was going to ask me that. I dunno--I went to Amazon and downloaded the series, so I didn't stream it.
Its all there if I ever want to re-watch it, like a library. Is that Amazon Prime?
