Runing a restaurant these days is pretty tough job and government keeps throwing more knives into their backs. Particularly in California.

Perhaps you just refuse to see them. I'm done with this.

The Record unequivocally says otherwise.

No, they're not.

See Toricelli --> Lautenberg.

That was a modest "switcheroo". Seemed audacious at the time.

There may be a much larger one come the DCommunist convention.

Agreed .... who knows who is going to emerge as the DEM nominee at the convention.  My bet is it isn't going to be evil Joe.

Quote
Joe Biden is in Wilmington, Delaware, for yet another vacation. He did, however, take a brief sojourn from the vacation to go to West Point to deliver the commencement address.

At West Point, Biden had to take a walk to get to the stage after they announced him. It was concerning to watch how he moved forward in that stilted fashion that he has, with the "Mr. Burns" empty look on his face:

(snip)

Then Biden completely messed up the point of "we lead by the power of our example, not the example of our power."

"Never forget that America is the strongest when we lead not only by the example of our power but the power of our example," he said. Then no one clapped, and that apparently irked him. "You can clap for that," he groused.

Then came the diplomas.  But this was something else. After Biden had been handing out the diplomas for a short while, he was interrupted by one of the West Point officials and moved to the back. You can hear the officer say, "Let's crank it up," and then they had to speed up the process:

Well, at least the S-400 detected the ATACMS and tried to intercept. That seems to be better than many/most do before going boom. yogi555

Quite agree with your analysis of the LP, Timber Rattler. It doesn't seem to be a place for the "small L" libertarian.

Way back in 2010-2010 during the TEA Party years, I explored both the Constitution Party and the Libertarian Party as alternatives to the Republican Party because 1) I despised the backstabbing that went on against Sarah Palin, and 2) could not stomach double-talking Mitt Romney.  I found that the Libertarian party was composed of two warring factions, the somewhat Conservative small government, low taxes, and go-away government faction, and the dope-smoking, anti-war, and open borders liberal side.  The liberal side seemed to be dominant and was obsessed with drug legalization, so I just couldn't go there and did not join.

Meanwhile, I actually did join the Constitution Party for a couple of years but found that it was too weak and cowardly with no fight...it was, and remains, mostly a debating society.

Still, whoever invited Trump and Kennedy to speak at the Libertarian Party convention is a complete moron, or else failed to read the room there, or consult its membership.

Crippling draconian taxes, rampant unchecked crime, incredible regulations on every part and detail of so-called 'your business', and now wage laws, have most businesses fleeing California because there is no point to doing business there.

Unlike what the Liberal mind believes, no one opens a business for charity or for community benefits. People run businesses to make money. When you take the 'make money' part out of the equation, then who need the stress and the hundreds of different liabilities involved in running businesses today.
