Tammy Murphy preparing to file U.S. Senate campaign account this week

In the next few days, New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy will take steps to seek the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate by filing with the Federal Election Commission to raise funds to test the waters and gauge the feasibility of becoming a candidate, the New Jersey Globe has confirmed.

A formal announcement for the seat currently held by indicted Democratic incumbent Bob Menendez could come sometime in the next few weeks, according to two sources with direct knowledge of Murphy’s political plans but were not authorized to speak publicly.

Still, her intentions have hardly been a secret.

Murphy, a businesswoman and the wife of Gov. Phil Murphy, has been speaking with prospective donors and party leaders and interviewing campaign staff.

She would face Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown), a three-term congressman and former Obama White House staffer, in the June 2024 Democratic primary.    Kim raised $1 million in his first week as a Senate contender.

For a "Tammy", the First Lady of New Jersey is a disappointment for the eyes.

For me, "Tammy" conjures up images of South Florida beach bimbos.
