This is too good! The "Voice" brings back so many memories! Vin Scully!
-
@Machiavelli
DUH!
-
Vin Scully throws out the ceremonial first pitch
-
Nice...Vin Scully, Fernado and Yager!!! Pasely did great with his git-stick
-
Vin Scully throws out the ceremonial first pitch
Vin handed the ball to Venezuela for the first pitch. That was really nice.
-
Leadoff walk?
-
Lead off man on for Houston.
-
One away for the Astros on a 3-1 count.
-
Vin handed the ball to Venezuela for the first pitch. That was really nice.
Yes it was very nice!!
-
Altuve up! Two swimming strikes!
Hill beat us (D-Backs).
Three swinging strikes!
-
Struck Altuve out swinging
-
No score.
Bottom of the 1st. Was that Correa?
-
Correa flied out on two strikes. Side retired.
-
Struck Altuve out swinging
I did not expect that. Three pitches!
-
Go Velander!!
-
Correa flied out on two strikes. Side retired.
How many times can I say "Thank you"?
-
Go Velander!!
I have heard so much about Verlander. I am excited, too!
-
CHris Taylor strikes out swinging . . .
-
First strikeout!
-
Another strikeout!
-
Corey Seager strikes out swinging . . .
-
Justin Turner flies out to center, no score after one full.
-
Got Turner for the third out. I did not expect that at all. @flowers Verlander is looking good!
-
@EasyAce Polly will be a little bit late. @Polly Ticks
This is going to be a world class game! Just seeing Vin starting it off was just too good. Have you seen Sandy Koufax?
-
Missed the two strikeouts by Hill. This could be another very quick game.
-
Bellinger up. Bottom of the 2nd.
-
Wow! Three strikouts for Verlander!
Puig up. Strike one.
-
@EasyAce Was that a not so good call by the ump with a ball on the outside?
-
Joc Pederson up.
-
Verlander really on his game tonight.
-
Top of the 3rd. O-0.
-
Got Turner for the third out. I did not expect that at all. @flowers Verlander is looking good!
Go Verlander!!
-
Verlander really on his game tonight.
I know! I have not seen his pitching very often. He appears to be on his game tonight!
-
Go Verlander!!
I am not for either team. Just watching some really great ball!
Leadoff man on. Utley "could" have made that play. Who am I?
-
Infield single, sacrifice bunt, back to back singles, back-to-back strikeouts including
Altuve, two men stranded, but the Astros on the board first, 1-0 middle three.
-
Infield single, sacrifice bunt, back to back singles, back-to-back strikeouts including
Altuve, two men stranded, but the Astros on the board first, 1-0 middle three.
Dang, the Baby Kindle just took a dump. Onto ten fingers on the Lenovo with the stylus hanging out my mouth!
What a game! Be back in a second. I forgot how to use the Lenovo.
But I can put the Kindle on MLB, which would help with knowing who is at bat, et cetera. Sheesh!
4th inning. 1-0 Astros!
Be back, I hope!
-
Three up, three down for the Dodgers. Daring bunt attempt by Dodger pitcher Rich Hill but
to no avail. 1-0, Astros after three.
-
I am not for either team. Just watching some really great ball!
Leadoff man on. Utley "could" have made that play. Who am I?
I am a Padre fan...so Dodgers are evil!
-
Another great game....
-
I am a Padre fan...so Dodgers are evil!
Waiting for the Lenovo.
What do we say in our division? "Anybody but the Dodgers!" LOL!
But this is a very special World Series, eh?
I think we all have such fond memories of the Dodgers from earlier in our lives.
The Briefing Room came up on the Lenovo! Wheee!
-
I am not for either team. Just watching some really great ball!
Leadoff man on. Utley "could" have made that play. Who am I?
Astros need to start getting more pitches out of these starters.
-
A leadoff walk and a steal wasted for the Astros, but Rich Hill is probably finished for the Dodgers
tonight. 1-0, Astros, middle four. Seventh strikeout for Hill, too.
-
@EasyAce
Thank you again...
Now have have three different medium. Is that plural for media? I am not a multi-tasker!
-
@EasyAce
Thank you again...
Now have have three different medium. Is that plural for media? I am not a multi-tasker!
Media is plural for medium.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers got their first baserunner of the night on a leadoff walk but waste
it with a force out and Justin Turner dialing Area Code 6-4-3 to end it. 1-0, Astros after four.
-
Top of the 5th. Pitching substitution for Hill. Kenta Maeda now pitching for the Dodgers.
1-0 Astros.
-
Media is plural for medium.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers got their first baserunner of the night on a leadoff walk but waste
it with a force out and Justin Turner dialing Area Code 6-4-3 to end it. 1-0, Astros after four.
Hahaha! Ten-finger typing now!
-
Trivia: Entering this game the Dodger bullpen had a .118 batting average against it and an
ERA under 1.00 this postseason . . .
-
Did the Dodgers take out Hill because of the one run?
-
Astros went down in order.
I do not know how you multi-task! This is difficult. LOL!
-
Bellinger up.
-
Number 5 strikeout for Verlander. Wow!
-
Astros went down in order.
I do not know how you multi-task! This is difficult. LOL!
With Google Chrome you can have multiple tabs up to work with. ;)
-
I have multiple keyboards. All different. Dang.
2 and 2 for Puig.
-
I don't know if you just saw what I saw with Puig licking everything in sight. No wonder Turner does not want to sit next to him in the dugout.
Someone getting loose for the Dodgers?
-
Deep to right field, a way back, going, going, going, it is gonnnnnnnnnne, goodbye! The first hit off
Justin Verlander tonight ties the game. Joc Pederson, home run, we're tied at one!
-
Joc Pederson homered. Tied game!
-
Back to one-finger typing. I wish I could even begin to understand what computers do. Some of it is great, like what we are doing now. Right now the Lenovo just decided to reconfigure. Do not turn off.
Thanks, Lenovo!
Correa aboard!
-
Another pitching change. Watson.
-
Manager Dave Roberts bringing in lefthander Tony Watson to face Brian McCann . . .
-
Tony Watson throws one pitch for a double play!
What inning are we in?
-
First pitch, McCann dials Area Code 5-6-3 for the side. One-all, middle six.
-
Springer caught a high fast ball. One out. Bottom of the 6th. 1-1.
-
Chris Taylor at bat. He hit a homer last night.
-
Vin Scully really looked good, I did not look closely but he didn't seem much different than what he was 30 years ago. Amazing. 89 I believe they said his age is.
-
Verlander walks Taylor-- twice tonight. 72 pitches for Verlander.
-
Vin Scully really looked good, I did not look closely but he didn't seem much different than what he was 30 years ago. Amazing. 89 I believe they said his age is.
Vin Scully was magic for so many years! He looked great!
-
Seagar homers!
-
Deep to left, way back, Gonzalez running out of room, gonnnnnnnnnnnnnnne!
Seager goes the other way and it's 3-1, Dodgers . . .
-
2 outs, Dodgers (Doy-yers for our Spanish speaking friends) walked and then, the HR.
-
Oh, my gosh, Turner at bat.
-
Ross Stripling warming up for the Dodgers. Conceivably it could be Stripling for one inning
and Kenley Jansen pitching two, depending on what the Astros do. Or it could be Stripling
for the seventh and Brandon Morrow for the eighth with Jansen in the ninth.
And will A.J. Hinch lift Verlander and trust his bullpen? Lance McCullers, Jr. to start Game
Three in Houston so he's probably not a topic tonight . . .
-
Deep to left, way back, Gonzalez running out of room, gonnnnnnnnnnnnnnne!
Seager goes the other way and it's 3-1, Dodgers . . .
I just love the way you say it!!!
@Cyber Liberty has taken over the care of the Lenovo. Right in the middle of everything, it just had to configure. I will show it how to configure! Out the window!
Top of the 7th, 3-1 Dodgers.
-
Stripling walks Gonzalez on four pitches to open the top of the seventh, Roberts taking
no chances and going to the bullpen . . .
-
I just love the way you say it!!!
I bet you say that to alllllllllllllllllllllllll the boys!
-
Is this the fourth or fifth pitcher for the Dodgers? Hill, Maeda, Wilson, I did not get the name of No. 4, and now No. 5?
-
I bet you say that to alllllllllllllllllllllllll the boys!
No! Just people who excell in their writing!
-
Is this the fourth or fifth pitcher for the Dodgers? Hill, Maeda, Wilson, I did not get the name of No. 4, and now No. 5?
Fourth pitcher of the night for the Dodgers, is Brandon Morrow.
-
And Morrow gets Reddick to dial Area Code 5-6-3. Two outs in the top of the seventh . . .
-
Dodgers got a nice double play. Two outs. Top of the 7th. 3-1 Dodgers.
-
Evan Gattis pinch hitting for Justin Verlander . . . beats out an infield hit with two out . . .
-
Fourth pitcher of the night for the Dodgers, is Brandon Morrow.
W
Do you think Jensen will close?
Base hit for the Astros. Turner did a great job keeping the ball from going a lot farther.
-
Time to stretch! 3-1 Dodgers.
-
W
Do you think Jensen will close?
Base hit for the Astros. Turner did a great job keeping the ball from going a lot farther.
If it stays a close game, I think Jensen will close. The Dodgers are into the Houston bullpen
now so they may get another run or two, maybe even enough that they could let Morrow
finish the game. But not really likely.
-
Harris now pitching.
Bellinger up.
-
Low throw. First baseman lost the ball! Bellinger on first base.
Puig up.
Two-run game.
-
They charge third baseman Bregman with the error but I think it's more Gurriel's error at first.
-
Wild pitch. Bellinger on 2nd.
-
They charge third baseman Bregman with the error but I think it's more Gurriel's error at first.
I also thought that ball could have stayed in his glove. Just popped out.
-
One out. Bellinger on 3rd.
-
I also thought that ball could have stayed in his glove. Just popped out.
If Gurriel had extended just a little more forward, he'd have had the out.
-
This is something. Joc Pederson up. Infield in. Why?
-
This is something. Joc Pederson up. Infield in. Why?
Because it's only one out in a two-run game. The Astros want to keep the game within reach.
Even a sacrifice fly can get the run home. They want it on the ground for a possible play at
the plate or to hold him on third.
-
Harris struck him out swinging. Big second out for the Astros, they can move the infield
back now, and a base hit is the only thing that can score the run.
-
McCann and Harris had a little chat when it was 2-2. No signs after that chat. Got Pederson out.
Harris kept Bellinger on third. Top of the 8th. 3-1 Dodgers.
-
Harris strikes out Barnes for the side. One of the better turns by an Astro reliever
I've seen this postseason. 3-1, Dodgers after seven.
-
Harris struck him out swinging. Big second out for the Astros, they can move the infield
back now, and a base hit is the only thing that can score the run.
Yes, it was. When the infield comes in, I always think "bunt." Still learning after all these years. LOL!
-
Bregman doubled. Puig could not get to it.
-
Bringing in Jensen...
-
Bregman doubled. Puig could not get to it.
He did all he could on that ball, diving right at it, before it nicked off his glove and into the
seats for the ground ruler.
They're bringing Kenley Jansen in for the six-out save . . . and Kike Hernandez goes out to left
field with Pederson coming out in the double switch.
-
Altuve up with Bregman on second. This should be interesting, to say the least.
-
Altuve out. Bregman to third. Correa at bat.
-
Altuve grounds out to second to move Bregman to third and Correa singles him home,
it's a one-run game again. 3-2, Dodgers, one out, Astros hitting top of the eighth.
-
Base hit by Correa. One run game. One out.
-
See. You are the writer! I am the observer.
Two outs. McCann up.
-
And McCann strikes out swinging for the side!
3-2, Dodgers, middle eight.
-
I think that was a good call by the first place ump, but for naught.
Dodgers up. 3-2 Dodgers.
-
Running catch by Gonzales. Utley out.
Bottom of the 8th. 3-2 Dodgers.
-
Nice play by Correa. Two outs.
-
Line out to left, side retired, the Dodgers three defensive outs from taking a 2-0
World Series lead.
-
Fly ball caught by Gonzales. Top of the 9th.
3-2 Dodges.
-
Line out to left, side retired, the Dodgers three defensive outs from taking a 2-0
World Series lead.
Again... You are so good!!!
Beginning of the 9th. Jensen pitching.
-
Please do it the way you do! Gonzalez hits it outta here! Tied game in the top of the 9th!!!
-
This one's deep to left, way back, way back, and gonnnnnnnnnnnne, goodbye, it's a tie game
as Marwin Gonzalez hits one out off Kenley Jansen. Three all, top of the ninth. And Justin Verlander isn't the only
one whose invincibility's been punctured tonight.
-
Bases empty. Springer up.
Two away. Top of the 9th. 3-3.
-
Drive past diving Turner and into left, it's a two-out double for Springer . . .
-
Double by Springer.
"It ain't over until it's over." Thank you, Yogi!
Inning over. Bottom of the 9th.
-
Seager backhands Bregman's grounder and the tie holds, with the heart of the Dodger order
coming up in the bottom of the ninth.
-
Ken Giles pitching for the Astros . . .
-
Three up, three down for the Dodgers, Bellinger thought he hit one out but Reddick
has it at the track against the fence, and we will go to the extras tied at three.
-
Almost a walk off by Bellinger!
Top of the 10th.
-
Thank you, Easy. I had to do a chocolate milk run. LOL! You kept me up on the game.
-
Altuve hit a homer!
-
Jose Altuve leading off hits one high and deep and gonnnnnnnnnnnne, goodbye! 4-3, Astros with
nobody out in the top of the tenth.
-
Ohhhhh. Back to back homers. Correa this time!
-
Carlos Correa hits one high and deep to center and this one is gone, goodbye! 5-3 Astros, what
was Dave Roberts thinking bringing in a pitcher prone to the long ball??
-
Game at a standstill. Someone jumped into the ballpen. Perhaps fell, but a lot of LEOs there.
Double. What is going on?
-
NOW Roberts brings in Cingrani . . .
-
Carlos Correa hits one high and deep to center and this one is gone, goodbye! 5-3 Astros, what
was Dave Roberts thinking bringing in a pitcher prone to the long ball??
I am in awe! I knew this was going to be a great Series. It should now go to seven games.
I guess managers think they know what they are doing? Not this time. You knew!
-
Top of the 10th. One out. 5-3 Astros.
-
Double play.
To the bottom of the 10th.
-
And Josh Reddick dials Area Code 1-6-3 for the side, but if the Dodgers lose this game they'll
be asking WHY Dave Roberts thought it was safe to open the inning with a pitcher who surrendered
ten home runs on the season in 57 innings' work . . . four of them to righthanded hitters, six to
lefthanded hitters.
-
Giles back pitching. Puig at bat.
-
This one's deep to left, away back and it is gonnnnnnnnnnnne, goodbye! Yasiel Puig with a leadoff bomb
and it's a one-run game again, 5-4 Astros . . . .!!!
-
Solo homer by Puig. "Gently set the bat down." LOL!
Bottom of the 10th. No outs. 5-4 Astros.
-
Giles struck out Barnes. Two away.
Forsythe up. Takes a strike.
-
Down to the Dodgers' final strike and Forsythe walks and the Dodgers stay alive . . .
-
Giles walked Forsythe just a little down and out of the zone.
-
Wild pitch. Forsythe to second.
What a game!
-
Base hit.
Game tied.
What can I say?
-
There are ALMOST no words!!!
Can you believe this game at Dodger Stadium!
-
I just hope baseball fans are watching. This is unbelievable!
-
Ump got in the way of a stolen base. What else can happen?
-
Never thought I would text this: To the top of the 11th...
-
Taylor flies out and we go to the eleventh, that's what else can happen! ;)
-
Mavin is on base to start the 11th.
-
Maybin kind of poked one over the onrushing Corey Seager for a leadoff hit.
-
McCarthy pitching. Just heard that McCarthy can lose control of his fast ball.
Mavin stole second.
-
Deep to right, way back, Hernandez chasing but it is gonnnnnnnnnnnnne, goodbye! George Springer,
two-run bomb, 7-5 Astros in the top of the eleventh!
-
What? Springer homers. Maybin, too!
No outs. Top of the 11th. 7-5 Astros.
-
Ummm, is this the last available pitcher for he Dodgers?
-
Seager will lead off in the bottom of the 11th.
-
Ummm, is this the last available pitcher for he Dodgers?
Unless Alex Wood went down to the bullpen to heat up, yes I think it is.
-
Bad planning?
-
Bad planning?
Not necessarily. Roberts' only mistake was going to a reliever who was home run prone on the season.
That changed the tone of the bullpen and the game.
-
The Dodgers down to their final out again . . .
-
A smoking line drive by Turner caught by Bregman.
Two outs. Bottom of the 11th.
Home run!!!
-
Deep to left, well hit, this one is gonnnnnnnnnnnnnnne, goodbye! Charlie Culberson pulls the
Dodgers back to within a run!
-
"This game is crazy."
That home run was by Colberson. I do not know the spelling.
Puig batting.
-
The game should have been over. That was a swing by Puig.
-
Puig strikes out swinging on an epic at-bat and the Astros win it, 7-6. The Series is even,
we'll see you in Houston!
-
Got 'em
4 hours, 19 minutes.
7-6 Astros.
I was finally correct when I texted it would be a one-run series. At least tonight it was.
Great game!
Thank you, Easy! I do hope some people could read along and "feel" the game.
I bow to your skill as a writer! 888high58888
-
I honestly don't know whether they played this game in Dodger Stadium or in Bellevue!
I'll have my essay about it for you all in the morning, after that kind of lunacy I've got to get me
a wind-down and some sleep!

Well, thank you, Slip! It was a pleasure being in your company.
-
My side lost. But I enjoyed a good MLB game.
Have not watched a single pro football game.
Watched the US Grand Prix last weekend, from COTA, Austin (televised).
Looking forward to the curling season.

Now while curling, do not get caught in a hack on the hog line, otherwise you will be swept. LOL!
Years ago in Newport Beach, CA, there was a lawn bowling court. I suppose that could be fun, too!
Have a great night! The game was a thriller until the last moment!

Vin Scully throws out the ceremonial first pitch
Darn it! I hate to have missed that. :(
-
Darn it! I hate to have missed that. :(
Actually, he handed the ball to Fernando Valenzuela to throw out. ;)
-
Actually, he handed the ball to Fernando Valenzuela to throw out. ;)
I saw that a couple of posts down-thread! Oh, well, I still hate to have missed Vin, even if he didn't actually throw it.
