Cato Study (Hardly a liberal group) how both Republicans and Democrats are coming together to try to boost birth rates in the US.

It's certainly not a conservative group, but classified as a 'libertarian' group.  The Koch brothers have more money then they know what to do with.  They held a fund raiser for Mittens.  Enough said.

I don't consider them social conservatives.

Michael Cohen’s legal adviser declared Monday that the ex-attorney of former President Donald Trump has atoned for his wrongdoing and will be believed by the hush money trial jury.

“Michael and I talked last night, and we recalled the journey that we’ve been on,” legal crisis manager and attorney Lanny Davis told Mika Brzezinski of MSNBC’s Morning Joe. “In late June of 2018, before he went public, I asked him, ‘How is anyone going to believe you after 10 years of lying for Donald Trump?'”

Cohen responded with a show of contrition and an acceptance of the consequences that would follow, according to Davis.

“He said to me then, and he repeated in front of a national and international audience, live under oath, ‘I am ashamed of what I did. I have remorse for what I did, and I will take the consequences and go to prison for what I did.'”

Cohen will serve as a star witness for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg when he takes the witness stand this week in Trump’s hush money trial, and Davis said that Cohen’s sentiment will be evident in his testimony.

Good move.
Most of those "diplomas" were intellectually worthless, in any case.
The "protesters" did themselves a favor...

Roger Corman Passes Away at 98

https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2024/5/11/roger-corman-passes-away-at-98

Quote
B-movie king Roger Corman, who directed and produced hundreds of low-budget films, has passed away. He was 98. Corman’s imprint on movies is undeniable. The definitive trailblazer and pioneer of independent film, his impact unparalleled, and legacy forever enduring.

Though he began his career as a screenwriter and director (watch his 1962 gem “The Intruder”), it was as a producer that Corman made his biggest impact. Some of the talent discovered by him include Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, Francis Ford Coppola, James Cameron, Jonathan Demme, Ron Howard, Peter Fonda, and Sandra Bullock, just to name a few.

It all started for Corman in 1949. After serving in the Navy, he landed a job at 20th Century Fox and by 1949 was a story analyst at the studio. Four years later, in 1953, he sold his first screenplay, “Highway Dragnet” and served as associate producer on the film. He used the money he made on that film – $18,000 – and produced “The Monster from the Ocean Floor.” This ability to make movies on very small budgets became the blueprint for Corman’s career.

Graduating students donned handcuffs, displayed Palestinian flags and tore up diplomas during a graduation ceremony at embattled Columbia University.

Friday's commencement came on the heels of weeks of clashes between pro-Palestine protestors, administrators and law enforcement.

Despite the controversy, some students maintained the fighting spirit. One social work graduate crossed the stage with hands zip-tied above her head as cheers sounded from the audience.

Trump accuses trial judge of being 'corrupt' and 'conflicted' on his way out of court
By Post Staff

Trump again ripped Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan as "corrupt" on his way out of court.

He called Merchan, who was first appointed to the bench in Bronx family court in 2006 by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, then a Republican, of being "highly conflicted."

Merchan became an acting justice in Manhattan Supreme Court, presiding over felony criminal cases, in 2009.

Trump also reiterated his claim that "there's no problem here" and "no crime" in the case.

"It's really a sad day for the country. It's sad for New York," he told reporters.
