Left Calls for ‘Army of Citizen Detectives’ to Monitor & Report Trump Supporters

Many on the left are promoting a recent video created by novelist and left-wing activist Don Winslow, which calls upon citizens to become cyber detectives to monitor and report fellow citizen Trump supporters to authorities while comparing the work of this “army of citizens†to that which led to the capture of al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden.
“On January 20, Donald Trump will become the Commander-in-Chief of a different army,†the slightly over two-minute clip begins. The words “This army†are then displayed as Trump supporters in Washington, DC, flash on the screen.
The threat addressed is described as emanating from “radical†conservatives who live among us. The clip continues:
The greatest threat facing America today comes from within: radical extreme conservatives, also known as domestic terrorists. They’re hidden among us, disguised behind regular jobs. They are your children’s teachers. They work at supermarkets, malls, doctor’s offices, and many are police officers and soldiers.

Trump's New Army? Well, I'm not that optimistic. The man is 74 years old. I think that the left is going to have a field day with him once he leaves office and will have him in and out of court. I believe one of the reasons that they want to see him impeached and thrown out of office is so that he won't get the salary, security detail etc., that he'd otherwise be entitled to. Freeze his assets and his businesses, have him continually paying court costs and they could bankrupt him.
I don't know if his sons have any businesses that are separate from the Trump hotels, etc....I hope for their sakes that they do. They left will be coming after them as well.

Read an article once where the Alexa operators described some of the extreme stuff they hear.
Most of it was disgusting. Everything from weird sex, to bathroom noises, to child abuse.
The funniest Alexa story to me, was the commercial that would broadcast loudly, "Alexa! Order (product name) now!"
Obviously it was shut down very quickly. But it did work. Alexa ordered it.

They SAY they only listen when the device hears the wake word. However, I've noticed, on numerous occasions, that ads I see on the web seem to be tailored to conversations I had in audio range of one of these devices. It's happened enough times, in situations where I hadn't searched online or taken other actions that might influence the ads, that I am very confident they are listening to mine ad words.

That's not what it said.
It didn't say I only listen when I hear the 'wake word', which as you point out is an oxymoron.
What it said is, I only send what you say to Amazon (and whoever else is on the list, NSA, CIA, FBI, DHS) when I hear the wake word.
It listens all the time. Theoretically, it supposedly only processes what it hears with the wake word.

I watched a couple of subtitled Russian series about fighter pilots and one about an artillery detachment. Thoroughly infused in both was the too ordinary fear of the zampolit, who could have one sent (or one's family) sent to prison for a mere accusation, and the idea that one was to remain loyal to the State even if your family was accidentally executed while your innocence was proven. Pretty chilling mindset, and I fear what we have coming here if the Leftists continue to run rampant.

I have it quite the other way. The cell phone is on me all the time. When here at Command Central, the Plantronix wireless is on me all the time too - and the desk has 2 lines - the one I am on, and the back line so I can transfer and hold. And Skype. And Duo. And Messages. And What's App. And 6 emails. And that ain't counting getting actually productive going on, which right now is coding, and one box on the guest bench, and one hard drive in the toaster getting worked on... 5 of my own machines to pay attention to... Four of which I am operating right now, not including droids. It is so friggin stupid. I can't even cook breakfast without getting a call, and Lord help us if I ever get to drink my coffee in peace. A lot of times it don't stop till after midnight. And all that, going broke while I am doing it. I LONG for the day that I can get out of here again, even for a long walk.
Up at the other place is awesome. The sound of the falls... The loons calling, the wind whispering in the trees. A moose wandering by. Stress just melts right off me... I really cannot wait. Sitting on the porch in the morning in the rocker I made, looking out over that little pond... Go do the chores in the barn I made... Take care of the chickens in the coop I made... work in the shop I made, on real things that are in my hands...
It is SO much better.

We are only a couple of days into the Biden era.
I think conservatives regardless of where you're located need to watch our backs. Including what you say in your home (who knows what devices can hear your conversations) and absolutely need to watch what you post in here.

I think it's more than "bought and paid for". I think some are ignorant of the risk China poses, and have a conflict of interest carefully orchestrated by China. But I think there are some which China has the ability to blackmail. I believe that Xiden is one of these.

A few years back, well quite a few, a man I knew in passing froze to death when his car slid into a ditch. He got out to check things out and the wind blew the door shut. Automatic locks, he was locked out and the temperature was well below zero. Past the transmission, I don't want anything automatic. I'll take care of it as long as I'm able.

Meh, I work in IT and I have some of those things. Also robot vacuums. If it truly saves effort I buy it. A lot of the smart tech is more trouble then it's worth.

I am IT, and a bit of a hardware/software freak... and I have none of it, beyond talking to Bixby on my phone, and that is mainly because it is easier than hauling out my glasses all the time.
I have no need for it otherwise, and don't really find any of it to be useful... Starting with heat. Funny, but AI can't light a fire, nor throw the wood in. And right on down the line, the same thing applies. Roombas make me giggle. Heck, just in dog hair I would have to empty that thing daily, not to mention the chunks of dried mud (I am being nice here) that fall off a vibram sole.
The only other thing that seems vaguely handy is being able to tell my phone to turn on the porch light when I come home. But then, the phone has a flashlight, so... :shrug:

In the past few months, I have noticed that my wifi printer started acting differently, and was some how was causing my computers to default to the printer's wifi without prompting. SOB stays off now, except when in use.
