Intelligence Reports Suggest IS Leader Al-Baghdadi is Still Alive

An Iraqi intelligence officer said Sunday that Daesh leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was still alive.
Last month, the Russian Defense Ministry media said that al-Baghdadi was believed to have been killed in an airstrike in Syria.
U.S. officials, however, said they don't have any proof confirming the Daesh leader's death.
"Al-Baghdadi is still hiding in Syria in an area outside [the northern Syrian province of] Raqqah," Abu Ali al-Basri, the head of the intelligence and anti-terrorism department at the Iraqi Interior Ministry, told the local Al-Sabah newspaper.

There were stories that came out about a possible successor. It's viable news but I'm glad I held back on it.

Had this came out in the previous administration this thread likely would have gone on for eight pages of how the other guys are putting the security of the nation at risk ..as long as the present administration is marginally tolerable, then those concerns mean squat.
The fact is our intelligence capability in the ME is poor and has been getting progressively worse irregardless of the administration since 911,..and neither political party is capable of reversing the decline
