Title: John Wayne and Oakland airports
Post by: truth_seeker on September 02, 2020, 06:14:11 pm
News item (on RushLimbo) reporting addition of new airline, flying from SNA (Santa Ana aka  OC aka John Wayne) to Oakland.

Oakland has been a good option for going to Bay Area.

[snark] The problem with OAK is that it's in Oakland. [/snark]

I used to travel to the area, quite a lot. I never hung out in Oakland. It served the purpose of the airplane ride, and nothing more.

Most big cities are shite wholes. Get out fast. Drive away fast, or drive around.

As airports go, I don't at all mind SFO, SJC, or OAK (though it's probably been over 15 years since I've been to OAK). John Wayne (Orange County) isn't bad, nor is Lindbergh (San Diego). It's been nearly 5 decades since I flown through LAX, though I've heard it's largely well worth avoiding.
