'I am going to bet that these pro-Hamas supporters wouldn't last a day'

A new plan being proposed in Congress outlines a plan of community service punishment for those rioters who are taking over campus properties and buildings in support of Hamas terrorists.

It would call for six months of such service, often considered a generally light punishment.

But the service would take place in the terrorist hotbed of Gaza.

Fox News explains the bill from Reps. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., Randy Weber, R-Texas, and Jeff Duncan, R-S.C., comes in response to the anti-Israel riots across America.

Hundreds have been arrested and in multiple locations the riots have turned violent.

They are in support of Hamas, which dispatched its soldiers from Gaza into Israel last Oct. 7 and butchered some 1,200 civilians, which prompted Israel to send its military on a mission to destroy that terror threat.

Ogles' plan does not mention Israel or the anti-Israel groups, but instead targets unlawful activity on college campuses after Oct. 7, 2023.

Fox explained, "Those convicted would be forced to serve a minimum six-month community service sentence in Gaza, where Israel is currently waging a brutal campaign to eradicate Hamas and rescue the remaining Israelis that terrorists took hostage in October."

At times I think I'm the eldest on the forum. Thanks for reminding me that I'm not. Next year (2025) will be 60 years for me.

************************************************

I've been to about half of my reunions and plan to attend my next one. I was part of the clique in school. It was very large and contained cliques within the clique, but there wasn't any animosity between them. They broke down largely according to school activities. Band kids, eggheads, jocks, who's dating whom, who went to elementary/jr. high together, etc. The further out our reunions were from our graduation year, the more the alumni began to mix and mingle without regard to cliques. So many interesting people when you reach out. I've changed. They've changed. Life usually causes people to establish new priorities. On the flip side, I've eliminated certain "friends" from the clique who proved to be shallow and dishonest.

That was pretty much how it was at my school.  However, there were many not in any cliques (loners), and at a reunion I feel like a third wheel on a bicycle.  BTW, my 50th is in '26.  It's back east a couple thousand miles so I will not be there.

That bell cannot be unrung.

Which is why Merchan allowed it. Merchan may even cynically instruct the jury to disregard her testimony, but he knew when he allowed it that what has been heard cannot be un-heard.

If LIEden is playing that game then Israel should ask LIEden how much he wants that Iron Beam laser system Israel was going to sell to the US military.

The problem Gingrich faced is the same one faced by every Speaker: just because the Speaker is the head of the conference doesn't mean he can control the way all of his members vote.  The more conservative an agenda that is pushed, the more likely you are to bleed GOP votes from the moderate wing of the party.

Tip O'Neill didn't want to pass most of Reagan's agenda, but blue dog Democrats crossed over to support it so he couldn't stop it.

I think that is a fair discussion of the problems Gingrich and Mike Johnson had.  But, will Gingrich be remembered for caving to Clinton in his first year?  No!  He'll be remembered for Effing around with that very strange Callista.

Tip was the kind of guy Reagan could have a beer or two with.  Picture having a drink with Hakeem Jeffries.

Well, you could try a Mac... heh.
(actually, only half-joking there. nothing beats the Mac platform. Apple's politics don't matter, even Rush knew that)

You're using Windows, right?
What browser are you using?

Surely for your browser there must be a way to get free extensions, plugins and add-ons.

Go to the page where you get them.

In the search box, enter "javascript" or try "disable javascript".

You may get one or more hits.
They probably all work about the same way.

Install one of these -- it will probably go "up above" in the tool bar area of the browser.

It's just "a toggle switch".
If javascript is on, it will toggle it OFF and reload the page.
If javascript is off, it will toggle it ON and reload the page.
It doesn't do ANYTHING else.

Go to the Epoch Times, and "hit the javascript button".
Turn off javascript and the Epoch Times comes in just fine.

I don't use windows and don't know if browsers on the windows side have "reader mode". Safari and other Mac Browsers (like Brave) have it.

Washington Examiner by Brady Knox 5/8/2024

Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) is set to introduce a bill to exempt gun silencers from federal regulation.

The Silencers Help Us Save Hearing Act would completely deregulate suppressors at the federal level, eliminate penalties associated with owning a suppressor, and permit current and retired law enforcement to carry concealed silenced firearms. Speaking with the Washington Examiner, Good said that the bill was not just about protecting the Second Amendment but that it would also help cut bureaucracy in acquiring the accessory.

“I oppose any form of regulation or tax on the people’s right to keep and bear arms. No constitutional right should be at risk due to public opinion, or subject to regulatory and tax burdens,” he said. “These rights certainly extend to the procurement of safety accessories for firearms. My legislation would eliminate the overly complicated and antiquated process for acquiring suppressors and ensure that those purchases are no longer subject to federal regulation.”

Silencers, interchangeably known as suppressors, are cylindrical devices attached to the barrel of firearms to reduce the sound and muzzle flash created by a firearm.
