Majority of Dems Favor Socialism
A new CBS News/YouGov poll found that 58% of Democrats have a positive view of socialism and only 32% have a favorable view of capitalism. When Republicans and independents are added in 35% of all voters have a favorable view of socialism and 46% have a favorable view of capitalism.
Democrat nominee for the Texas US Senate seat James Talarico hailed these poll results. "For years I've been saying that capitalism is an oppressive system that must be dismantled," he reminded. "It seems my message and that of many of my fellow Democrats is breaking down America's prejudice against socialism. Under capitalism the profit motive encourages individuals to create wealth for themselves."
"Apologists for capitalism overlook the unfair distribution of talent, energy, motivation and luck among the human population," Talarico asserted. "Individuals who have less talent, energy, motivation, and luck are unfairly denied as big a share of the nation's wealth as those who create the wealth. Socialism corrects this injustice by having the government compel those who create the wealth to share it with others. Only socialism can deliver on the Declaration of Independence's promise of equality."
Republican nominee for the Texas US Senate seat Ken Paxton called Talarico's praise of socialism "misguided. When you dilute or destroy the profit incentive you also dilute or destroy wealth creation. The fabulous wealth existing in the US today has been the result of generations of mostly free-market capitalism. The democratic socialism of most of western Europe retarded wealth creation. The authoritarian socialism of the Soviet Union impoverished the vast majority of its population. Highly motivated wealth-creating entrepreneurs like Elon Musk are the folks that socialism wants to constrain and rob. Leaving them free to innovate and create more wealth will raise the living standards for all of America and the world."
In related news, a recent Gallop poll found that 89% of respondents believe that government corruption is widespread. Giving government more power to confiscate money from taxpayers, as socialism would do, seems contrary to good sense. As one respondent commented "it'd be like killing a goose that lays golden eggs."
Taunting Leads to 400,000 Unverified Voter Registrations
Darwin Jonathan Rivera Flores, a Honduran and lawful permanent resident in the US, was arrested for disrupting federal immigration operations in February 2026. He received a misdemeanor citation and a year of probation. Since that time he sent numerous texts to a federal agent taunting that he intended to register to vote and cast a ballot in the November elections. He is not a citizen. However, the California process doesn't require proof of citizenship in order to be registered to vote.
First Assistant US Attorney Bill Essayli observed, "it turns out that California registered 400,000 persons without requiring any of them to provide proof of citizenship. State officials have consistently resisted every effort to audit their voter rolls."
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon said "let this criminal complaint against Mr. Rivera serve as a reminder that the Justice Department stands ready to enforce the laws Congress enacted to ensure only American citizens vote in federal elections."
State Attorney General Rob Bonta insisted that "California law doesn't require that we ascertain each voter's citizenship status. We're currently on the 'honor system' and take each applicant's word as to whether they are a citizen. There is a proposition on the November ballot which would require citizenship verification for both in-person and mail-in ballots, but it hasn't passed yet. Until it does pass we reserve the right to do as we please."
In related news, Washington Secretary of State Steve Hobbs announced that "32% more mail-in ballots were disqualified as 'late' in the August primary election this year than in the 2024 primary. Fortunately, the vast majority of disqualifications occurred in counties with a majority of registered Republicans."
Michigan AG Calls for Jews to Sacrifice Selves
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel skipped attending the Democratic Party's state convention because she felt "it wouldn't be safe for me to mingle with the antisemites. I didn't want to get chased around. I didn't want to get harassed. I didn't want to get yelled and screamed at. I didn't want to get booed off the stage, irrespective of what I'm saying."
Now she says "I realize that my instinct for self-preservation was inappropriate. Jews have a moral imperative to place the needs of the world above our own self-interest and, yes, even our own survival. The antisemites desire to rid the world of Jews is a lesser evil than allowing Republicans to continue their support of selfishness and blind obedience to Trump--the world's biggest and most dangerous fool. Prioritizing our own survival is a direct abdication of our responsibilities as Jews whose traditions demand a profound obligation to the world and compassionate action toward others."
Hearing of her remarks, President Trump said "I feel sorry for this poor woman. Her leftist ideology has blinded her to the evil intentions of the socialists. No good can come of a political movement that scapegoats Jews and billionaires while simultaneously coddling criminals and subsidizing parasites. Ms. Nessel's recommendation for Jews to sacrifice themselves in order to aid the election of people who would gladly kill them makes no sense. It would be like urging Jews to vote for Hitler in order to promote national socialism. The resulting massacre of six million Jews Hitler ordered did not make the world a better place."
"In contrast, my make America great movement intends to boost everyone's prosperity and freedom regardless of their race, sex, or religion," Trump added. "It is neither dangerous nor foolish. It is fulfillment of the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness promised by our country's founders."
In related news, Democratic strategist James Carville rejected MS NOW's Ari Melber's suggestion that "Democrats need the affirmative message of why this is not just an anti-Trump campaign," saying "why do Democrats need to be for anything? People will vote against Trump. Eighty-one million of them voted against him in the 2020 presidential election. With every major media outlet constantly hammering Trump I think we can replicate what Democrats accomplished in 2020."
Lindsay Clancy Fan Cites New Abortion Law
In 2023 Lindsay Clancy sent her husband on an errand. While he was away she strangled their three children--5 year-old Cora, 3 year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan to death. Her efforts to kill herself were not as successful. She cut her wrists and neck and jumped from the home's second-story window. She survived, but was paralyzed from the waist down due to the fall.
Her defense counsel argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder and could not be held responsibility for her actions. The prosecution argued that the careful planning that preceded the killings demonstrated premeditation. The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict despite lengthy deliberations and earnest prodding from the judge, who was then forced to declare a mistrial.
The crowd of Lindsay supporters that was camped outside the courthouse was dismayed that a reported single juror holdout against acquittal couldn't just be removed so Lindsay could go free. One told a reporter that "the new Massachusetts abortion-at-birth law justifies the right of a mother to terminate the life of her unwanted child. We all know that a baby terminated in the birth canal is a viable human being, not just a 'clump of cells.' I would argue that Lindsay would have even more justification because she had lived with her three brats outside the womb and had more reason to want to terminate them. She also did it more neatly without crushing their skulls and tearing them apart. Most of us out here in support of Lindsay hope the prosecutors will appreciate this and decline to retry her."
In related parenting news, Karyann Parkinson, a Virginia mother of five children ranging in age from 2 months to 14 years, was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allowing her 5-year-old son walk from home to a nearby pond to collect goose feathers in their gated community. Her plea that "I made an intelligent, calculated decision based on knowing my sweet boy and what he's capable of," was rejected by the judge. Her name was immediately placed on a government child abuse and neglect registry where it will remain for seven years.
Hunter Biden Confesses
Former President Biden's son Hunter went on the "Dopey" podcast and told host Dave Manheim "I was able to scrape the money together for the cocaine, prostitutes, and private bungalows at the luxurious Chateau Marmont because I still was on the board of Burisma as part of the influence peddling scheme my father and I cooked up when he was vice-president."
In response to Manheim's gasp, Hunter assured him "it was a fair deal. We didn't cheat Burisma. My dad went to bat for them in Washington. Burisma wasn't our only client. I was on the board of 14 other major national and international organizations. They paid me, I gave my Dad his 10% cut, and he represented their interests in Washington. Even when I was a crack addict and out of my mind, I could still show up for four meetings a year, which was all I was required to do to make our arrangement look legit."
Manheim observed "it certainly seems both lucrative and illegal. Weren't you and your Dad taking bribes in exchange for influencing US policies toward the companies you were on the boards of?"
"Yes," Hunter replied, "but it doesn't matter now since my Dad gave me a presidential pardon. I am honestly admitting what I did. I'm not a weasel like Fauci. He was given the same kind of pardon I was. Yet, he's still refusing to tell the truth about the crimes he committed."
