When it takes a jury three days to decide if strangling your three children is a crime, something is broken.

So, so true.   **nononono*

The 9 women on the jury sealed the deal.

In that part of the country justice is based on tribal politics. She's one of theirs and the legalities just don't matter.

A hung jury would not surprise me, especially if the judge thoroughly confused them with his instructions, including a count (manslaughter) that was not even charged.

New judge. New jury. New venue, if possible. Sequester the jury, this time.

Then, justice might have a chance.

Agree. The madness is being driven by the collective of once so-called “marginalized” groups. Their belief systems, their subculture, their social media groupthink are all willingly exploited by politicians and media. I don’t see a fix short of something akin to 911 and even that would be short lived.

The Clancy jury just told the judge it cannot reach a unanimous decision. He sent them back to keep working. That is not diligence. That is a panel that will not do the obvious job.

The facts are not in dispute. Three children are dead. Their mother killed them. A courtroom that needs days, then a deadlock note, to admit that is a shameful display.

Someone in that room would rather protect a story about the defendant than name what happened to Cora, Dawson, and Callan. Mental illness can be part of the file. It is not a veto on the verdict.

Keep going until they say guilty, or admit they will not. Either way the country can see it. Justice for those children should not have required a pep talk from the bench.

The Clancy jury has told the court that it is deadlocked. As expected, Judge Sullivan is now sending them back. That is a common response to push a jury further. Not surprising given the intense divisions in the country, the jury appears to be manifesting those same divisions...

...The prosecution finished strongly with a narrative that emphasized the timeline and the actions taken by Clancy to carry out the murders. Some jurors may find the "not guilty" part of a "by reason of insanity" verdict to be too high a hurdle, given the death of three young children by strangulation...

This was posted on reddit then deleted by the mods.

Quote
Never in history have men rallied to defend a man who murdered children. That is the stark difference between how men and women are reacting to this case. No matter the motive, the circumstances, the psychology, or the environment, some acts simply cannot be defended. Nature does not negotiate with that. There is no need to overcomplicate it or insert yourself into the mess.

Yes, the justice system must determine whether she is insane. It will be a long, ugly process, and everyone with a functioning brain already knows the system is broken. But that is how it works.

What women missed was the chance to stay silent. The intensity of their public outrage reveals exactly where their priorities sit. And the result is already visible: men around me, and across social media, are openly questioning women’s rights because of it. This is not sudden. It is the accumulated consequence of decades spent directing the loudest energy toward abortion, open borders, and leniency for criminals... consistently toward the destructive. That is, I believe, the pattern of female nature on these issues.

At this point it no longer matters who is technically right or wrong. What matters is where the energy is spent. You will never see men making excuses for a child rapist or murderer. We do not.

And that is why this case will prove deeply damaging to women in the long run. Sometimes the only intelligent move is to shut the bleep up.

Years ago, one of my counterparts in the prosecuting atty's office got a guilty verdict in 7 minutes. I think we threw her a party.

A jury note saying they can’t reach a unanimous decision in the Lindsay Clancy case tells me one of two things.

The fact the judge didn’t immediately call a mistrial tells me more people are agreeing than not.

We just don’t know if they’re agreeing on the degree of murder… or not guilty by reason of insanity.

Very interesting. Not surprising.

It's the women vs the men in that jury room.

The men deciding on the facts of the case, and women deciding on the emotions the case.

The women in the jury will NEVER be able to logically arrive at the conclusion that she planned to kill them, because they cannot conceive of a mom killing her own babies unless she is insane.

I've been posting that for YEARS in this forum, since I first signed on in 2013.
Yet many members of the forum still seem to believe that somehow, the nation can be "re-united".
That has become a fantasy.

The only way the blue states and the people that inhabit them will be "brought back into the fold" is by a civil conflict, followed with a period of "Reconstruction" by the victors (hopefully, the right).

The alternative to such conflict/reconstruction will be either rule under the communists, or perhaps following that by conversion to an islamic nation (already underway in a few places in this country)...

I think they are arguing whether she was sane or not. How you get into someone's  head baffles me.

These are the two questions the jury needs to answer:  1.  Did Lindsay Clancy know killing her children was wrong? and 2.  Did Clancy deliberately prepare for the killings?

If the answer is "yes" to both, this is murder in the first degree.

All it takes is one idiot to hold out. That juror could compromise on a lesser charge than 1st degree, but apparently has something to prove to the world.

Or the juror with heart and mind actually thinks the defendant is guilty of first degree murder.  Would you want "one idiot" to compromise and condemn a defendant he thinks is not guilty?

What is concerning is OJ Simpson style Jury Nullification.

Violence from the left = Speech
I will NOT comply.

We have federal civil rights legislation... how is not being  murdered a civil right?

If she is let go, I hope the husband sues her in the civil court and makes her life a living hell.

The Clancy trial needs a foreman

..the jury in the Lindsay Clancy trial is deadlocked. They are being led by a female foreman. Studies indicate that females tend to be more touchy-feely in their leadership style.  Rather than being primarily task-oriented, they tend to build relationships, maybe even tend to the donuts and coffee to break the ice.

Parkinson’s law of triviality captures their tendency to jabber away pointlessly, thereby impairing meaningful communication at the crux of the matter. Nevertheless, their empathy tends to create a friendly and welcoming safe space that conforms to their more feeble feminine traits.

By contrast, men are more transactional and task-oriented.

Yeah but what side was she on? Frankly I'd love to punch the jury in the mouth for not just immediately convicting this bitch.
