Pretty difficult to sustain any bump when  we’re looking at a period of stagflation and the president is dismissive of voter’s concerns

That is exactly the "reasoning" D goobernors are following. The problem is that many voters notice that inaction fosters violence and destruction almost as effectively as actively backing the anti-Semites.

What is that old saying, Silence is compliance?

I don't really think "forgiveness" has anything to do with it.

This is who Trump is - someone who will try to destroy anyone, no matter how virtuous or good for the country - who isn't an obsequious toady.  If he wins, he'll keep doing it after the election to any Republican who doesn't 100% support him no matter what he says or does.  Almost inevitably, he'd leave the party in much worse shape than if/when he takes office.

Expressing regrets - which he would never do and would never mean anyway - is worthless.  He's just a guy to whom principles mean nothing, and everything is just about him and his ego.  I despise him as much as I despise Biden.

Romney rejects Noem comparison: ‘I didn’t shoot my dog’
by Sarah Fortinsky - 05/01/24 10:15 AM ET

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) pushed back on comparisons between the politically damaging dog stories that plagued both his and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s (R) potential bids for the White House.

During Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, a decades-old story about him tying his dog Seamus to the roof of his car on a family road trip became a political headache for the then-Republican candidate for the White House.

Now, more than a decade later, Noem faces a similar political firestorm that could doom her chances of being selected as former President Trump’s running mate in 2024. But Romney rejected the correlation.

“I didn’t eat my dog. I didn’t shoot my dog,” Romney said Tuesday in an interview with HuffPost. “I loved my dog, and my dog loved me.”

“If I were a Democratic party politician, I’d want to stay as far away from this as possible,” Pitney said. “If they support the students, there could be a demonstration with antisemitic references … If they support a removal of them from campus, it could result in over policing and be a very bad image.”

That is exactly the "reasoning" D goobernors are following. The problem is that many voters notice that inaction fosters violence and destruction almost as effectively as actively backing the anti-Semites.

Why didn't he do it the first time?

Even after he promised the same deportation the first time

Trump knows what his audience wants to hear even if he’s not serious about what he saying

Shades of the late 60s ... except California's then-governor dealt decisively with "anti-war protesters" at SF State and UC Santa Barbara. Will current anti-Semitics hurt LIEden the way the "anti-war protesters" hurt LBJ?

Netanyahu Blasts ICC, Vows to Destroy Hamas — Deal or No Deal

Joel B. Pollak 30 Apr 2024

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that Israel would reject any attempt by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to indict Israeli officials over the war in Gaza — and that it would destroy Hamas regardless.

Netanyahu was speaking after the end of the Jewish holiday of Passover, reacting to reports that the ICC intended to indict him and other officials for alleged “war crimes” in defending Israel against genocidal Hamas terrorists in Gaza.

The prime minister added that Israel would continue to pursue its mission to destroy Hamas’s “military and governing capabilities.”
