Windows 10 has fairly good WSL support for Linux running as a virtual machine in Windows. We use it with Ubuntu for ARM code development.

TRUE. I am NOOB in VM. Messed with it some with VirtualBox... A very little bit with VMWare... I never really caught the magic, other than it was handy in Dev. My main gig is messin with hard files and real configuration, often hacking hard drives by hand to make them go again... All of that kinda requires a pretty clean machine running from BIOS because of the constant changes. I sling drives in and out like a mad man.

I keep threatening to wake up my Dev. My toybox is getting really old again. I swore I would never rewrite, but here I am again. The last time, that took a long year. If I finally have to, well I guess my dev box will be VM capable.

START THE COURT MARTIAL PROCEEDINGS: DC National Guard Whistleblower Alleges Trump’s Commander-in-Chief Powers Were Revoked by Military Brass During January 6 Capitol Riot
by Jim Hᴏft May. 4, 2024 8:00 am

in April the House Subcommittee on Oversight held a hearing with National Guard whistleblowers who stepped forward to correct the media lies and dishonest narrative by Democrats on the January 6 protests and riots.

Four members of the National Guard testified that they were ready to be deployed on January 6 but THE PENTAGON held them back!

This directly brings General Milley’s actions into question!

Kash Patel tipped us off last month that there were more reports like this coming.

National Guard whistleblowers: Command Sgt. Major Michael E. Brooks, Colonel Earl G. Matthews, Aaron Dean Retired, and Captain Timothy Nick stepped forward and testified before Congress to correct the record on January 6.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser were both warned about the security situation prior to January 6th, and both turned down National Guard troops at the US Capitol that day.

Pelosi and Mayor Muriel Bowser turned down thousands of National Guard troops at the Capitol on January 6 for political reasons.

Chris Wray’s FBI also refused to notify the Trump administration and his cabinet secretaries that they believed there could be violence like the mass protests at the Capitol that took place that day.

Nancy Pelosi also refused the National Guard at the US Capitol due to politics.

Capitol Police Chief Steve Sund said he asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. National Guard be placed on standby in case he needed quick backup. But they both turned him down.

John Solomon from Just The News released an explosive report in 2022 that revealed Capitol Police were first warned about possible violence at the January 6th protests TWO WEEKS before the planned rallies.

I'll also wager @banddag has worked on wiring and/or plumbing without calling a licenses tradesman "to save a buck". And that actually is far more dangerous, particularly to other people, than doing an ultrasound on a cow to see if it is pregnant or not.

You do not have to be licensed to do small home tepair electrical or plumbing  on your own home in most areas ofv the country.  I have never seen Lowe's ask for a license to buy a light socket.  I own some business properties and always hire a electrician or plumber to do needed work because I do not want to be responsible is a renter should get hurt or die from something I did

What we need to do with cows who fart methane is eat them. Voila, problem solved.

I second that! Gates wanting to save the planet?  Right!  That's why he's purchased up so much farmland.

I don't believe a word you say any more. Your "wealthy" but clueless how taxes work with capital gains. But you did admit that you cheat on your taxes, was that true? Now your wife magically is vet and can tell horror stories after dealing with farmers.

Total B.S.

The Forbes article said very few people will be affected by Bidens capital gains tax. Every business owner out there pays for non business expenses various times through their  business. If you do not think so you are naive. Yes, my wife is a vet, I was born and raised on a small dairy farm and live currently on a small hobby farm,- no livestock

There is a reason why veterinarians are not going into large animal practice. Dairy and beef cattle owners are notorious for being cheap and vets cannot make money

You know we should have let them eat the Tide Pods.

I very much like True Launch Bar if it is still around. Can organize files/folders/apps very cleanly with minimal clicks to get there.

Stardock's 'Start 11' - I got in with Stardock over the start bar in early win8/win10 days, and really all the way back in XP. There's a nominal fee... I don't remember... maybe five bucks...

But it will give you a truer win10 start feel than you can get out of Win11, even with all the jiggery and ExperiencePatcher applied.

The problem I run into is that I either have to commit to Win11/Stardock or stay in Win10, because all my start bar hacks in win10 don't translate. If I set up a new machine for myself in win10, I can literally set up the desktop and start panels in a couple clicks, importing my exact style and all the positioning out of a backed up config. In Stardock, or by hand, it's hours.

It's a thing, because I use the crap out of the Start panels... I have derived my ultimate efficiency in that, and I am always adverse to change. I do not want to adapt to Win11.

It's going to come from Unicorns, duh...

No they are not, nor do they reveal what they're seeing.

It is quite telling that virtually every poster on this forum understands this basic truth through real world experience.  Yet we are to abandon all critical thought and cede our decision making to some liberal idiot bureaucrats whose champion shows up here out of nowhere, completely ignorant when it comes to this same basic truth.

As Reagan kindly and gracefully put it, it's not that they don't know anything.  It is that so much of what they do know is wrong.
