‘Unchecked Defiance’: Third-Largest Christian Denomination In U.S. Faces Potential Schism Over Homosexuality

The United Methodist Church (UMC), which is the third-largest Christian denomination in the United States, faces the possibility of schism after conservative Methodists are taking measures to break off over the issue of homosexuality.
The would-be division from the conservative group known as the Global Methodist Church (GMC) consists of a 17-member Transitional Leadership Council, which is a group of theologically conservative Methodists, according to The Christian Post.
...
As The Christian Post reported:
Keith Boyette, president of the Wesleyan Covenant Association and spokesman for the Global Methodist Church, told The Christian Post that UMC leadership has shown “an unwillingness to uphold its teachings.”
“In the United States, particularly, some bishops, clergy, and churches are operating in open defiance to the teachings of the United Methodist Church,” Boyette said.
“The Church has become ungovernable as a consequence, such unchecked defiance has destroyed the integrity of the Church.”
Boyette said that “this defiance” has “only increased in recent years,” noting that “those who advocate for change in the official teachings and who are in defiance have made it very clear that they will not leave the Church voluntarily.”

As a member of a UMC denomination (that was originally a United Brethren congregation that got swallowed up in mergers), we've been following these developments fairly closely. The proposed schism has been on hold because of the pandemic but it seems that the downtime hasn't healed the deep divisions.
Granted, I don't think there is a single member of that church that would quit if somehow we disaffiliated from the UMC. The way it's structured, it'd be close to impossible.

The Rodents want the Church, any and every church, to follow their rules of social anarchy rather than God's rules as set forth in the Bible. Western Civilization was founded in large part on the teachings of the Bible, and even as an atheist I recognize the importance of those teachings in the success of our civilization.
The Bible is quite clear on the matter of homosexuality.
No.
Homosexuals can be saved by Jesus, but they practice their abomination. The sinner must try to repent his sinful life.
That teaching is plain.
But the Rodents want to destroy America's cultural foundations, and, what the hey, if they can seize the assets of the third largest Christian denomination in the US while their at it, they're going for it. The Methodist church was infiltrated long ago, just like all the others, and much suffer the power struggles as the devout try to overcome the godless tyrants usurping their pulpits.
Good luck to you. It's very important that you win.

With homosexuality being so fashionable, it is amazing to me to see any religion standing up to oppose it. Nice to see really.
