LISTEN – Slowed Down Version Of Dolly Parton’s Jolene Goes Viral
Last year, Youtube user “goodlittlebuddy” decided to slow down the Dolly Parton classic Jolene. He took the original recording, put it into a sound editor and slowed it down by 17% and posted it on Youtube. Some videos go viral right away. However this one has just suddenly exploded lately.

Very good. It's much more soulful at this pace, giving the lyrics more power.

Good song! I like this better than Dolly's version.

She is quite a gal.

What is interesting is how her voice changed slowed down to sound just like a man.. but I like this pace, much better for the song.

She's right, of course, Jolene. Leave her man alone. However, if you want to give me a call...

Kind of like when Eric Clapton slowed down Layla. Made a different song out of it entirely and many will argue, including myself, a much better song than the original.
In this case however I do like the normal speed Jolene. Now my son behind me right now says to speed it up a bunch to make it sound like the Chipmunks, but that's just him talking.

Layla is my favorite Clapton tune.

I liked Tears in Heaven. Back in 2002, a friend had to write an essay on anything she chose. She picked Tears in Heaven. Her professor told her to redo it. She asked me for help. I read her essay, and it was so bad I couldn't fix it, so I did another for her. I broke down each verse and interpreted what Eric was thinking. She got an A on it.
My friend was in her forties, and laid off from her long-time factory job that moved to Mexico. She was able to go to a local college to get an associate's because of her job leaving the country. However, she could barely spell, let alone keep up with assignments. She got an internship working with women who were between prison and full freedom, and was very good at it. The place liked her a lot, but she had to get her Associate's to keep her job. That is why I helped her. She is a good person, and deserved the break.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Not much of a Dolly fan, so this works for me. Enjoyed it–immensely listenable.
