RNC records another record fundraising haul in April, $35 million in bank
by Paul Bedard

Like the surging Trump economy they hope to ride to victory on Election Day 2020, the Republican National Committee said Thursday that it brought in $15.9 million in April, the latest fundraising record breaking month.
Officials told Secrets that the party also has $34.7 million on hand and zero debt.
The RNC has been regularly blasting through fundraising records as it readies for the election, having already brought in $61.8 million since the last one. And while it is spending heavily on technology and organizing, its cash in the bank continues to grow.

Even with the RNC dramatically beating the DNC in fundraising during February, the DNC still holds an overall cash on hand advantage. As of Feb. 28, the DNC has $74.9 million in its coffers, while the RNC only has $31.1 million. The DNC posted almost $4.6 million in debts and the RNC reported $0 in debts.
RNC raised $15.9 million April
$15.5 million March
$14.6 million Feb but is only $3.6 million richer

Creative accounting?
They're spending tons on fundraising to get higher fundraising numbers. There is some logic to that strategy. A RNC donor is more likely to vote GOP.

GOP committees took $400K from Steve Wynn last month: report
By Rachel Frazin - 05/17/19 05:48 PM EDT
The Republican National Committee (RNC) and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) in April reportedly received a combined almost $400,000 in contributions from former casino magnate Steve Wynn, who has been accused of sexual misconduct.
Wynn gave the RNC $248,500 and the NRSC $150,000, Politico reported, citing two people familiar with the donations, which will reportedly be disclosed this month.
The longtime Republican donor stepped down as both RNC finance chairman and from his position at Wynn Resorts last year after he was accused of sexual misconduct spanning more than a decade. He has denied the allegations.
The RNC confirmed Politico's report in a statement to The Hill.

Of course perish the thought of false charges against a rich, big Republican donor.
