Title: What Would Christopher Hitchens Be Saying About Obama Now?
Post by: olde north church on September 24, 2012, 07:13:50 pm
Every once in a while I think about current situations and wonder what those who are no longer with us might be writing (or saying!).  We know he was no fan of the Clintons.  We know he expressed support for the Bush 43 Middle East policy.  We also remember Hitchens was an avowed Socialist.
Any opinions?

Good question.  Wasn't he moderating some of his socialist views around the time he passed away?

I don't recall which of his core beliefs he was jettisoning at his end.  I don't think he embraced religion at the end.

No, he didn't embrace religion, he was still a committed atheist - as was Steve Jobs, but we know that Job's wife reported just before he died he looked past her and just kept saying "wow"...... I think most of us can figure out why........ but I never heard any stories that Hitchins ever doubted his non-belief.
