ST. PETERSBURG, Russia –  Alexei Navalny, Russia's most prominent opposition figure, has opened his first regional office for a presidential bid, despite an imminent court verdict that could bar him from running.

I doubt if he stands much of a chance but, these are the kinds of people who may one day run Russia; and they are totally different than whom is in the Kremlin.

An opposition candidate is a "foe", a demeaning term.
