Mueller Report Brings in Big Fundraising Haul for Trump Campaign
Townhall, Apr 19, 2019, Leah Barkoukis

President Trump’s reelection campaign has benefitted from special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on the Russia investigation, raking in over $1 million since the document’s release.

According to a text message from the campaign on Friday, more than $1.1 million had been raised.

“Sorry Trump haters. The biggest waste of money witch hunt in history is finally over,” the text says. “The attacks and lies will keep coming heading into 2020. That’s why we need to fight back bigger and stronger than ever before.”

Trump campaign COO Michael Glassner told The New York Post that the “Mueller news drove a 250 percent increase in fundraising from grassroots donors.”

He's super duper rich. He doesn't need fundraising, remember?

You're thisclose.  The President won't accept money from special interest groups.  We, his voters, are free to contribute.   happy77

I recall something like that and I don't think he's exactly strapped for cash.

Oh, grow up. Trump doesn’t need butt-hurt ankle biters yapping at his heels.

Trump found himself in the trenches through no fault of his own. He’s doing battle on our behalf, America’s law-abiding, constitution-loving, conservative Americans; he could use all the resources he can muster. It’s imperative that he be re-elected. The left didn’t take him seriously in ‘16 and they got burned. They won’t make that mistake again. Bet on it.

Top 10 Donors to the Trump Campaign (FB, WWE)

Donald Trump doesn't want to be seen as anyone's puppet. Unlike his rival Hillary Clinton, he has disavowed super PACs, the fundraising organizations that attract millions in donations from wealthy supporters. The Republican candidate, who has put in $8 million of his own money and guaranteed loans worth $47 million to fund his campaign, has argued that he can't be controlled by special interests this way. But that didn't stop supporters from donating millions to pro-Trump super PACs this last quarter.

1. Robert Mercer, Renaissance Technologies - $13.5 million

2. Sheldon Adelson and Miriam Adelson, Las Vegas Sands Corporation (LVS) - $10 million

3. Linda McMahon, World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. (WWE) - $6 million

4. Bernard Marcus, Retired - $7 million

5. Geoffrey Palmer, G.H. Palmer Associates - $2 million

6. Ronald M Cameron, Mountaire Corp. - $2 million

7. Peter Thiel, Palantir Technologies - $1.25 million

8. Walter Buckley Jr, Actua Corporation (ACTA) - $1 million

9. Cherna Moskowitz, Hawaiian Gardens Casino - $1 million

10. Peter Zieve, Electroimpact - $1 million

Trump shouldn't have spent all that time shouting about how he was going to be "self funding" his campaign, if he wasn't.

The left made the mistake of thinking that Hillary had the election and she herself was so confident and sure she was going to win.  One of the most priceless moments of the '16 election I can remember is Wolf Blitzer's reaction and all of his electoral maps showing how Hillary could still win; he was trying to convince himself.

I still predict that either Beto or Castro will get the DEM nomination.  Other than Weld I don't see anyone challenging Trump on the GOP side.
