Florida Democrats will have a candidate running for their party in every one of the 28 state House districts for the first time since 2018, the Florida Democratic Party announced.
Last Friday was the state’s election filing deadline, and the Florida Democratic Party made a conscious effort this election cycle to recruit Democrats to run for every seat in the Republican-dominated state.
“Florida Democrats just filed to compete for every congressional seat,” Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried said. “It does not matter if we’re running in Pensacola or Key West, every part of this state is worth fighting for and we are not going to let Florida Republicans walk into office without being held accountable. Florida Democrats are fired up and ready to compete everywhere.”
The GOP holds 20 out of the state’s 28 House seats, and 19 of those seats are rated “solid Republican” by the Cook Political Report. Only three seats in the state are listed as competitive by the Cook Political Report.
But Democrats have candidates trying in every district, even in districts that have popular Republican incumbents.

Former California Rep. Kevin McCarthy has a chance for revenge against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) in the form of a GOP primary challenger in the 2024 election.
Former naval officer and aviator Aaron Dimmock filed his paperwork on Friday, the deadline, to run against Gaetz, who led a coalition of seven other House GOP members to join all Democrats in ousting McCarthy last fall. Dimmock is the director of leadership programs at the University of West Florida’s Aylstock, Witkin, Kreis & Overholtz Center for Leadership.
Dimmock’s entry is a win for McCarthy and his allies, who have long criticized Gaetz for the former speaker’s removal as being personally motivated. Gaetz had accused McCarthy of making a “back deal” with Democrats to pass a continuing resolution, but the former speaker alleged the reason was due to an ethics investigation into the Florida congressman.
McCarthy recently blamed the months of GOP infighting and a “broken” conference on Gaetz.
“I think they’re in disarray, but it stems from those eight [Republicans] working with all the Democrats,” McCarthy said in a MediaBuzz interview. “The conference is broken because they never dealt with those eight, and until they do, it would stay broken.”
“What Matt Gaetz did has broken the Republican majority. He’s now created Lord of the Flies. Ask anybody inside our conference. They actually know it,” the former speaker said.

Five key swing states have investigations and criminal charges related to former President Donald Trump’s fake elector scheme and the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
While he is not named in some, the charges are entirely out of Trump’s control, which may hurt him come November if any of these cases result in conviction. In a race between President Joe Biden and Trump that is expected to be close once again, 12% of Trump supporters said they would reconsider voting for the former president if he is convicted in any of his four criminal cases.
In December 2020, groups of fake electors met in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin and signed false documents that indicated Trump won the election in their states. Cases in many swing states hinge on these instances.

I remember listening to Rush early 90's and all the doom and gloom about Clinton-going to turn the country communist, create another depression on an on. The 90's was incredible for both individuals and companies and some of the best economic times in out nations history.
Trump not once but twice warned under biden the stock market would collapse. It was at record levels not once but twice and is hovering around the top right now.
Trump said biden would destroy the economy. In 2023 a record amount of new business were started. the greatest amount in our nations history. 5.5 million. A record amount of countries are investing in the US right now. Yes we have some challenges, inflation, housing shortages etc but they will not last forever,
Record oil and gas production but wait I thought biden was going to kill the oil and gas sector. Oil co's making record profits. I wish biden would put his boot on my companies neck.
Forbes came out today and said the bidens 44% tax has all kinds of asterisks, caveats and loopholes to enable people to get out of paying it. Very few people will pay it probably less than 1%. It starts at 1 million dollars or more of IRS take home pay but also investment account limits.
Buffet, Gates, Musk and many others have said the billionaire class needs to pay more taxes. These people are smart. They know if the class inequality continues to get worse they might end up on a lampost.
Yep, a troll. A foolish one at that.
