Obama economy rips doors off 'world's largest store'
More than 11,000 retail outlets shuttered across U.S. since start of 2015

Only two months ago, WND reported Macy’s stock had plunged precipitously after it summarily dropped its business connections to now-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump when he announced his bid for the White House.
Now Macy’s is announcing the closure of another 100 stores, a move that, according to a retail industry website, pushes the total number of stores closed by retailers in the United States since the beginning of 2015 – a period for which President Obama boasts of a rising economy – to more than 11,000.
The economy, in fact, has been horrible under Obama. A report just this week in the Weekly Standard said: “In truth, the economy under President Barack Obama has been historically bad. How bad? Adjusted for inflation, average yearly GDP growth under President Obama has been less than half of what it was under President Jimmy Carter, 1.5 percent to 3.3 percent.”

The states and feds are feverishly attempting to get a foot in the door to tax the internet so the tax monies lost can be recouped.
Watch it happen.

The brick-and-mortar retail world has been transitioning to an on-line purchase and delivery model for well over 10 years now. There are many things that Barack Obama can and should be blamed for, but this is not one of them.
The old business model was necessarily inefficient, requiring excess inventory, transportation, labor, over-processing and energy expenses, in relation to the newly-dominant Amazon online retail model.
What Obama and his socialist minions deserve blame for is maintaining a governmental regime of high taxes, excessive regulation, poor public education and open hostility to entrepreneurship that have created huge barriers to entry for new American businesses.

Many states already tax online purchases. I don't think we have any federal sales tax.

Amazon and the internet have had a greater effect on retail. It makes no sense to maintain a retail establishment when Amazon can ship the same product--often the same day--for a lower price.
I haven't bought a bottle of wine in six years from a retail store. Get them shipped from wineries in California at a lower price and free shipping.

I understand what you're saying but people out of work will seek the cheapest way to spend and it just so happens the internet is available. It's the same reason Walmart is the top or near the top retailer in the world. I would rather buy something I can run to a local store to get than buy on line, but the price makes a difference. We Social Security spenders don't have a lot of extra money to spend frivolously, a figure not looked at - I don't think.
