Satellite photographs of North Korea at night still show the country practically invisible at night.

Analysis suggests that per-capita GDP amounts to around US$1,400, the Economist reported early this month citing Austrian research agency World Data Lab.

The luminosity of North Korea's nocturnal landscape declined 40 percent compared from 2013 to 2015 because a drought drastically lowered hydroelectric power output.
