America Needs More Gas Power, Not Wind, AEP!

Hydro could be a larger part of the mix if they figure out how to co-exist with fish migration. Hydro can be susceptible to droughts, so, it needs to part of a mixed portfolio of available generation options.
Solar and wind make sense as supplemental electricity generation sources that can reduce fossil fuel consumption around the margins or for isolated areas with an already high cost of electricity.
There is no "ONE" solution. It requires a mix for security, reliability, and risk management.

Am wondering exactly how are solar and wind portrayed as secure, reliable and less risky?
And why is it called for that the reduction of fossil fuels is of any importance?

The Global Climate Change value proposition is that the climate will be more moderate and predictable if the West de-industrializes so the Chinese Communist Party can become the ultimate military and economic power in the world.
The Chi-coms used the most idiotic useful idiots - Al Gore and John Kerry (both failed liberal Dem Presidential candidates) - as spokepersons and windowdressing to recruit their elitist intellectual limousine liberal friends to the Chi-com cause.
Nobody wanted to directly confront the Global Climate Change Fraud (as embodied by South Park's ManBearPig) because they did not want to deal with the temper tantrums and the emotional meltdowns that would occur on the other side. Who wants to be around someone else's ill-behaved child?
Being true to their Communist sponsors, Gore and Kerry helped orchestrate an intellectual terror campaign against any person or organization that dare question their Global Climate Change narrative.
So, those who did not drink the Global Climate Change Kool-Aid chose to avoid and ignore the Global Climate Change brats.
Meanwhile, following the example of Mao's Cultural Revolution, they had the re-education system create an army of young Climate Soldiers to unleash upon Global Climate Change traitors. The Green Commies made Global Climate Change a crusade "for the children" and "for the future survival of humanity".
How dare you question the Global Climate Change narrative!
Then, consequences happened - blackouts, brownouts, high utility bills. We could not ignore the brats any longer because their bourgeoisie college campus nonsense had real world consequences for those who never agreed to submit to the Green Commies.
The $h!t hit the fan for the rest of us. Now there is a counter-revolution in progress to re-establish energy sanity in the West.

Let me throw out that Water Energy Storage appears a good way to utilize both solar and wind to produce real effective power. https://nenpower.com/blog/how-much-water-energy-can-be-stored/
Stored water can be done by power derived by the intermittent wind and solar systems to lift water and store it for later usage. This turns the disadvantages of wind and solar into stored power which can be used efficiently.
Obviously, this is topographically controlled for only certain situations, but can be used to also overcome the disadvantage you mentioned of drought handicapping existing hydro power systems.
Smokin Joe:
One reason we are seeing data centers built up here is that there is abundant natural gas to fire power plants.
Another is that cooling is cheap (mainly a matter of filtering out the snow and moving the air) in the winter.

I mean, someone had to post it.
