When you all don't stand together you fail....
“It’s all over. We’ll take the Senate deal,” says a senior GOP aide. Senator Mitch McConnell’s office quickly noted to reporters that the Kentucky Republican would be taking back the lead.
The House will pass whatever Reid sends over.
If Boehner loses his speakership, I'd bet he won't care. Who wants to try to govern with these FreedomWorks sock puppets calling the shots?
Freedom Works, Tea Party.....who else do you hate....is that you McCain?.....Rove?
Rove?
I thought you guys loved Rove.
I'm frustrated with the entire elite power structure, be they 'liberals', 'moderates', or 'conservatives'.
I thought you guys loved Rove. Not since 2006.
Freedom Works, Tea Party.....who else do you hate....is that you McCain?.....Rove?
I hate Rove....worst adviser ever imho....
If the Rebubs would just one time stand together and fight something they might actually win..but no..there is nothing but infighting and one-up man-ship..you never see the Dems do this..no matter what, right or wrong they stick together...Repub's are easy marks and Obama knows it..
I hate Rove....worst adviser ever imho....
..he also allowed the Dems and media beat Bush up for almost 8 years without fighting back...Rove now says that was a mistake...too late the damage is done and he still lives with the never ending ridicule from the left......that is why I hate Rove!
Think about it for a minute. How do you win a fight from one House of Congress? The Senate can shut it down, and the President can veto it if the Senate passes it. 3/4 of each House is required to override a veto.
We have to pick fights we have a chance of winning. To think we could defund Obamacare was one of the most colossally stupid propositions I've heard in my life. Yet Ted Cruz thought he could do it.
Or maybe he knew he could never do it, and raising his profile was what this was all about.

If the fragile economy crashes because of this, the GOP is going to get barbequed.
It appears you've been right about this. At this point, there isn't a win for the GOP. And, in a time when the administration's beyond incompetent roll out of Obamacare should be the story, the schism in the GOP takes the limelight.
If the fragile economy crashes because of this, the GOP is going to get barbequed.
That's exactly right. Every negative economic effect for the next six months will be because the Republicans shut down the government.
I must be missing all of the GOP members who aren't beat up by the media. Hell, McCain was shocked, SHOCKED, when the same media that adored him for years turned on him during the 2008 election to the point they were accusing him of having affairs. The amazing thing is that McCain didn't learn his lesson at that point, and is once again trying to be the "Maverick".
NOBODY is going to save any GOP leader from being attacked by the MSM. How do you fight back? If the media won't cover you fighting back, it never happened in the minds of the Zombie Voters in this country.
That's exactly right. Every negative economic effect for the next six months will be because the Republicans shut down the government.
I'm not that smart, and I had this figured out in mid-September. That's why I think this whole thing was a cynical effort by Ted Cruz to raise his profile in the Republican Party. He knows the Tea Party's got his back, no matter how self-serving this whole thing's been.
Not to mention you'll never hear the end of it in 2016.
Bush should have taken the podium [he had the bully pulpit..this is one thing that Obama does that is effective] and call them on their lies instead he let them stand and they became fact in peoples eyes....people expect someone to stand up and fight and call your opponent on them.....
Well, by then, Obamacare will have failed, and Hillary will have that failure smeared all over her.
That's why she's no where to be found defending Obamacare.

Very true. Plus, she just ripped Biden today on opposing the bin Laden raid, which means she must be feeling confident, since she so completely botched and covered up Benghazi.
I still can't believe that an obvious lie about a YouTube video being to blame is now down the memory hole.

Many here seem to think that the left will spin the facts and make Obamacare sound like a success when it isn't.

What a mess. It was ALL stacking up against Obama. Everything. IRS. NSA. Syria. Putin. Benghazi. Now?
Good Lord.
Yep. Syria was killing Obama, and Ted Cruz threw him a lifeline.
Yep. Syria was killing Obama, and Ted Cruz threw him a lifeline.
McCain, Graham and McConnell are not working for the good of the GOP in these negotiations. This story has nothing to do with the Senate. The National Review has reported that Boehner gave conservatives the changes they asked for, "But with his right-wing troops abandoning him again, it was the speaker who was left holding the bomb." How can it be McCain's fault that Boehner screwed up again? He trusted conservatives.
What a mess. It was ALL stacking up against Obama. Everything. IRS. NSA. Syria. Putin. Benghazi. Now?It still is. Obama is not exactly getting rave reviews on his handling of this whole fiasco, either. Pretty much everything out there right now says both sides are taking the heat for this. The only ones that are saying "GOP to blame" are the ones forcing people to choose one over the other, and since most of the polling samples these days are D+8 or somewhere in that vicinity, it's no surprise that the results are D+8 as well.
Good Lord.
Lots of young leftists were outraged over him wanting to bomb Syria.

I'm beginning to wonder if the whole thing isn't a psyop to improve Bambi's image after the trouncing he took from Putin and Assad.
You know, show some 'leadership' by defeating the 'evil Republicans' and saving the nation...
I'm curious, what's your opinion of Obama?

It's very easy to point fingers.:amen:
It is a flawed assumption to think that had the GOP done nothing, and given OPapaDoc his spending increases along with his debt ceiling increase, the media would be focused on the failure of Obamacare and Benghazi instead of the budget stalemate. How focused was the media on Benghazi BEFORE the stalemate?
As for all the worry about whether we will be seen as "extreme" if this activity continues, was OPapaDoc harmed or helped by OWS? How did we do in 2010 after the Tea Party activity of 2009? Compare that to Romney's safe, non-extreme campaign of 2012.
The Democrats are not going to feel any pain whatsoever until their welfare state is shut down. A GOP that is driven by fear and corrupted by Wall Street bankers is no party I want to be associated with anyway. The House Republicans have passed their spending measures. At this point, anything they do is inauthentic capitulation and will be seen as such by the voters.
That's kind of a complicated question for me. I believe him when he expresses his desire to help people and make the economy stronger, but I feel he falls short and is an ineffective leader. I think he got in there and was disappointed that things didn't start just going his way. I also think part of his (and many presidents) ineffectiveness is a result of the corruption in our government.
Then there is little hope fir yo if you think he care about ANYONE but himself. The know lies when there I no reason to lie.. case in point his interview yesterday. And since he's been President black people and the poor are worse off.
So am I a lost cause or not? This seems to be inconclusive.
There is always hope. I was a radical leader in the Peace and Freedom Party when I was younger. I later spent six years as a political operative for the Democrat Caucus of the California legislature under Willie Brown. In that position, I became intimately familiar with how corrupt the Democrat Party actually is, and how it plays its constituents for suckers.
Once you truly understand politics, you will see that politics is incapable of solving most problems. In fact, it usually creates more problems than it solves. Once you come to that realization, socialist idealism is out the window.

You've really got a way with words today massadvj - words of wisdom!
I hope you are right. When one is 60, the good days are rare. I'd hate to think you are just more delusional than usual today. :green teeth:
I'll tell you how you fight the media back - you just walk around them and move forward. You start your own media - an alternative media. We are the foot soldiers in this movement and we have a job to do as well. WE spread the word, we blog, email, text, twitter and all the places we can. We mock and belittle them and counter their every attack.
We never give up - even when it is all but certain we will fail, we fight for what is right - even if it makes us unpopular. And, when one of our guys is standing in the arena, taking all of the heat - we cover his back and use our considerable numbers to rally - not depress the fight.
Many here seem to think that the left will spin the facts and make Obamacare sound like a success when it isn't.The left, and their media, will have so much invested, that of course they will deem it a success.\
My people perish from a lack of knowledgeHosea 4:6
The MSM is the real problem in this country, just as they have been in every other socialist/fascist country in the history of the world. You control the media, and you control the masses.
The media willingly goes along with the evil that is being done to their country.
Started with the takeover of the public schools. That laid the foundation.
The media keeps the public in check.
It's interesting how we learn things as we go along. I used to think that Russia was filled with real journalists who wanted to report the truth, but the state controlled them. I didn't realize that the media in places like Soviet Russia and today's USA are communists. The media willingly goes along with the evil that is being done to their country.

Students who would be inclined toward conservatism don't major in journalism. Also, of course, journalism is non-quantitative, so it appeals to a much lower grade of student than, say, engineering or accounting. It's the perfect major for the dumb and lazy, which explains why every successful PR man makes sure his press conferences feature an open bar.
The Fourth Estate was recognized as so important to our fledgling democracy that the founders put freedom of the press as the very first amendment to the constitution.
... followed by an indiscriminate slam at heroic war correspondents, courageous investigative journalists uncovering mob activities, beat reporters following leads on corrupt politicians, financial analysts, science reporters, data journalists and of course fashion editors.

And you hurt my feelings, to boot. -- California State University, Chico, School of Journalism, 1975
Well, if it helps your bruised ego, hardly anyone majors in journalism anymore. I agree it has quite a storied history. There aren't any objective journalists left, and to tell you the truth, there is no market for objective journalism. Students today major in communications, and that major really is a catch-all for the those who flunked out of pre-med, engineering, business, etc.
Isn't Cal State Chico well known as one of the great party schools? I went to Cal State Sacramento, so I am not unfamiliar with Chico.
There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.
